Most of the time, Y/n struggled with feeling overwhelmed in her everyday life. It seemed as if there was no end to the capabilities of her anxiety. Whether she was surrounded by people or just alone with her thoughts. Her mind was always racing, and for the most part her heart followed suit.

When she felt anxious, she felt it in her chest. As if there was a fluctuating weight pressing on her heart.

There were things she did to try to calm the feelings, such as getting fidget toys, deep breathing, and even just talking to herself through the moments.

However, there was one tactic that worked miles better than the rest. She had flowy brown hair and soft blue eyes.

Nancy was Y/n's comfort person. They grew up together. Nancy was always there for her, and she was always there for Nancy. Knew more about Y/n than anyone else.

Her presence alone aided Y/n when feeling overwhelmed. She always offered her hand so Y/n could play with her fingers. Often enveloping Y/n in a hug to make her feel safe. She even pulled Y/n away from crowds when she noticed Y/n's discomfort.

Nancy never pushed Y/n to the back burner. Not with Steve nor Jonathan, Y/n always somehow ended up with priority.

As much as Y/n didn't want to think about it, her mind seemingly always went there. Y/n liked Nancy. Maybe more than she was supposed to like a friend. It had been like that for a while.

No one called Y/n out on it, until she met Robin. Y/n and Robin had similar interests. So it wasn't hard for Robin to see what was happening between Y/n and Nancy. It was hard being friends with both Robin and Nancy because Nancy always got a bit possessive when Y/n was with Robin.

It was as if she was stating that she had Y/n first and that Robin was trying to steal the girl away from her. Y/n did her best to assure Nancy that no one could take her spot.

Robin had a plan to get the two together. It wasn't the most put together plan, but she thought it would work well enough.

Nancy knew about Robin's preferences, and Robin would fully use that to her advantage.

" Y/n, you look stunning as always," Robin said, opting to greet you with a hug.

She held on a few seconds longer than she normally would, but Y/n didn't mind the warmth.

" Thanks, you look good too," Y/n smiled politely at her.

Nancy clenched her jaw and then cleared her throat," Hi Robin."

Robin waved," Hi Wheeler."

She soon dove into conversation with Y/n, not working to include Nancy. Y/n could sense Nancy's irritation, but didn't want to break away from her conversation with Robin.

Y/n stuck her hand out for Nancy to grab. Nancy was quick to take it. Instantly, Y/n, began to fidget with the woman's fingers mindlessly.

" Y/n, I was thinking that Friday, maybe we could hang out together... Just the two of us," Robin slid her hand up Y/n's arm.

Nancy was fuming, as Y/n dropped her hand. Who did Robin think she was? What did she think she was doing?

" Like- like a date?" Y/n said in a hushed tone.

Robin nodded with certainty," Yes, I, Robin Buckley, am asking you, Y/n L/n on a date."

A blush quickly spread across Y/n's face," I uh, Robin."

Nancy couldn't take it anymore," No, she can not go on a date with you."

Y/n looked at her best friend with bewilderment.
