An: I won't do a lot of these but this is a song imagine(kinda). Even If It's A Lie by Matt Maltese covered by Dodie Clark.

Word Count: 1120

I was growing younger day by day, there was love and it was all the rage
And I held you with the wandering eye

The break up was hard for you. She seemed unfazed by it but it hit you like a car crash. The girl was your everything at one point. She had shown you things that have opened up your life in a way that you never thought possible. All of those experiences now just discarded memories.

Now I know the girl I shoulda known, now I feel the love I should've shown
And I pull you in but you push me out

By the time you had realized she was pulling away it was too late. Anything you'd try to plan got pushed away by her schedule. You tried to understand the best you could. The girl was a pop star, probably the biggest one the world has ever seen of course she would be busy.

And I know you don't love me so but please say it once before I go

Towards the very end of everything Billie could never say it. There was a time were she scream it in front of crowds, shout it on the streets, and whisper it in your ear. Now she couldn't even say it back to you.

I know that you can feel me
Tell me that you don't love me
But say it one more time
I'm going darling, I'll step lightly
Live on as if you still love me
Just say it one more time
Even if it's a lie, even if it's a lie

When you date someone as well known as Billie there's not really any avoiding her if things don't work out. She's on every radio station, every billboard, and every channel. All. The. Time. You had your own fame before Billie but when you started seeing her it grew exponentially. You started getting invited to a plethora of award shows that you only dreamed of going to.

The first time you truly saw her after the breakup was at the Grammys. It hurt seeing her but the pride you had in her overthrew the hurt. You believe she deserved every single award she had gotten. You had felt the camera pan to you almost every time Billie was mentioned or on stage. Honestly all they saw from you was the same dopey smile you would've had if you were next to her.

Colours in the dress you used to wear
The way that you'd put up your golden hair

Seeing her there really triggered something in you. It was about the time of the after parties and you decided to go straight home. All night you went through your phone looking at pictures of you and your ex.

But I'll turn the lights down and leave
All the ways that I could say it now
You're the girl to push away my doubt
But it's too late and we're too young to know

You'd seen her pretty vulnerable and even she'd say you had saved her a lot of times. You'd never get to tell her she saved you a million more. You didn't bother to stop the tears that flowed while you looked through the pictures.

And I know you don't love me so but please say it once before I go

You don't know how long you were looking through the old pictures when you heard your doorbell ring. You weren't expecting anyone so you had planned on ignoring it.

However the person at the door was very persistent. You trudged through your house to your front door before opening it.

You froze immediately when her eyes met yours. It was silent and neither of you spoke. You just stared at each other.

" Hi Y/n," Billie was clearly not a hundred percent. As soon as she opened her mouth you could smell the alcohol.

" Billie have you been drinking?" You had never known Billie to partake in anything like that. For one she was underaged and two it just was never her thing.

" I brought you something," she pushed her way inside the house. You let out a confused sigh but nonetheless closed the door and followed the girl.

She was sitting on your bed with a grammy in her hand looking at your phone. Of course it was on a picture of her.

You cleared your throat and her focus was now on you. She looked down at the grammy," You helped me and Finneas with Bad Guy. Like a lot. On the stage all I could think about was how you should've been up there too so I brought you this."

You just stared at the award and shook your head," You've earned it Billie why are you trying give it away?"

She became quiet. You dared to move to sit next to her on the bed. As soon as you sat, she leaned her head on your shoulder. You wrapped your arm around her and waited for her to speak.

" I'm grateful for all the awards you know. I worked hard and I deserve them... but getting these awards felt so hollow," you were about to interject," Let me finish. All this success feels so empty without you."

" Billie you're drunk. I'm going to call Finneas he's probably worried."

You made the move to get up but Billie wouldn't let you. She ended up straddling your waist. Her eyes pierced through yours as you began to struggle under her.

" Bil-"

" Y/n I love you"

You stopped struggling. You bit your lip trying to stay strong," You don't mean it Billie."

" I know I didn't say it towards the end of us. I know every time you made plans I was 'busy'. I know you were trying your best to get me back. I hurt you and then I broke your heart."

You never wanted to be anywhere else this bad. Billie was crying and you were crying, you didn't know what she wanted from you.

" Billie I know you don't love me. If you loved me you wouldn't have come here drunk. If you loved me we wouldn't have broken up. If you loved me you would've stayed."

Billie removed herself from you and sat up with her hands in her head.

" If I come back tomorrow will you open the door," Billie mumbled into her hands.

You nodded not truly believing the girl. She got up and began to make her exit.

" Can you say it one more time?"

Billie glanced back at Y/n," I love you."

She closed the door on that note and Y/n leaned back on the bed.
