Chapter 38: Surveillance

Alex's POV:

The next few weeks came uneventful, we were working our asses off on every mission but thank god no injuries and the use of my gas was needed. I was in Meghan's room as of this moment. Everything was going great between us. Some nights we just stayed up talking and didn't even feel the time that was passing. But today, I had a file on me, Today is the day she knows who I am, or who I was

Meghan: "you ok ? You look distant. I know what the others said a few weeks ago hurt, but now they're treating you nice right ?"

"Yeah because you threatened every single one of them" I said sarcastically

"But no. Can we sit ?" I asked

Meghan: "um, sure" we both sat on the couch. I pulled out the file from

"Here" I handed her the file

Meghan: "what is it ?"

"Its the only copy of my full file, the one who's only Harry and I have access to on Rainbow" I answered

Meghan: "why are you showing it to me ?"

"Because I want you to know who I am, where I was, who I served with. I want you to know the man who you're with" she looked at it for a few seconds

Meghan: "I dont need it" she said which surprised the heck outta me

"What ?"

Meghan: "I know exactly who you are, Alex. I dont need to read this to finally understand you, because I already do. You dont have to prove anything to me" I looked deep in her eyes

"You have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that" I smiled

"And I believe you, but it's just wrong of me to know your military history without you also knowing mine" I said

Meghan: "are you sure ?" She asked hesitantly

"I am" then she opened the file and began reading it

After a while, she was finished and closed the file. She just looked in the distance without saying a word. Then she turned to me

Meghan: "so you are Delta Force"

"Yeah"

Meghan: "but you were also a Green Beret ?"

"Straight up after the Navy, yeah"

Meghan: "I never asked about your scars but.." she hesitantly said

"I got half of them on the field, and the other half from the trainings" she was gazing at my soul through my eyes

Meghan: "and what were they ?"

"Half of them were to make sure if one of us ever was captured, that we'll never be broken through any means of torture. The other half was extreme trainings on land adjustment, like going through heat in the Sahara desert, same went with freezing in Antarctica"

Meghan: "and after you've been accepted ?"

"Delta Force Trainings started"

Meghan: "and you and the other 5 were the only ones who got in"

"Yes..."

Meghan: "and what were Deltra Force Trainings ?"

"Perfecting every soldier's role, while also perfecting multiple languages. Then build chemistry with each one of us for maximum mission results"

Meghan: "I'm sorry about them..."

"You dont have to..."

Meghan: "it says that you were on the attack on Bartlett, I was also there but you weren't"
