Chapter 40: 4:00

Alex's POV:

Eventually, it was the afternoon. Meghan was sitting next to me drinking her drink while I was just staring at her

Meghan: "what ?" She asked

"Nothing. We should go" I said while smiling at her

Meghan: "ok, but you're driving" I laughed

"Fine"

We went out from the bar and into the car. Meghan was giving me directions, the location was close to our hotel. The building looked to be old, but not having the vibes of being abandoned

"I'll park up in here" I informed and parked behind the building that was facing the designated building we're supposed to watch

Meghan: "ok, I'm gonna go spread my cameras around" she informed

"Hold on, lemme come with you"

Meghan: "you think I cant handle danger ?" She smiled

"I dont want you in danger in the first place"

Meghan: "trust me, I'll be fine. Go set up a good spot" she said and walked into an alleyway

I looked around, there was a good building across from our designated building that had a medium view, not close or far to the building we're watching but we'll be hidden either way. I got up the roof and set up the surveillance equipment like the binoculars and sound amplifiers. I texted Meghan the building. She eventually got up

Meghan: "good spot" she said

"Thanks. How's the cameras ?"

Meghan: "all around the premise. We'll see every inch and we'll see everyone who walk in and out" she said while being fully proud of herself"

"Didn't expect any less from someone like you" she smiled and sat next to me

Meghan: "you know, the next few days will be long. We'll either sleep here or sleep in the hotel and immediately comeback"

"The cameras are a major help, and because of them we can sleep in the hotel and comeback"

4 hours later

"You know, your Spanish is pretty good" I said to Meg

Meghan: "those language classes I took with Yumi and Miles paid off" she said

2 more hours passed and it was night time, we were both tired

"Wanna go to the hotel ?" I said to Meghan who was half asleep

"Let the cameras take over for the night" I said and got up

The next day shined in our eyes. I had to wake up Meghan

"Meg, we need to go. You go in the bathroom first then we'll get a move on" she got up to the bathroom still half asleep

We eventually drove off to the building. But first, we must have breakfast

"Let's get breakfast first, there's a place near our building" she was on her phone looking through the cameras

"Anything ?" I said

Meghan: "yeah, but just soldiers. Our big fish still didn't show up"

"I thought they already secured that building, he showed up before"

Meghan: "what if he's not just a high rank ? What if he's THE high rank ?"

"You mean like the leader ?" She shook her head no

Meghan: "no, what if he's the right hand or close to that ?" That was a good theory actually

"Hmm, you could be onto something"
