"Nervous?"
"Of course I'm nervous," Jimin mutters, unable to stand still as they wait in line to enter the theater. It's the day of the multi-company auditions and there are hundreds of dancers here for them. Jungkook feels like he stands out in his jeans and baggy t-shirt while everyone around him is in some form of athletic wear, including Jimin. But his light nervousness over the social situation is nothing compared to Jimin's anxiety, so he forces himself to stay calm for him.
"You're going to be great hyung," Jungkook assures softly, pulling the elder into a side hug to comfort him. "Just dance your heart out and they'll see how much you shine."
"That was really cheesy," Jimin giggles, relaxing nonetheless which was the younger's ultimate goal.
The line begins moving steadily as they funnel the auditionees inside. Jungkook steps aside as Jimin checks in and hands over his papers, taking a number from the woman and moving aside to immediately take Jungkook's hand for comfort.
"What is the number for?" Jungkook asks, helping Jimin pin it to his shirt.
"It's like an id system. They can call by number. It's faster," Jimin explains.
"It's my birthday," Jungkook mentions once the card reading '91' is secured. Jimin looks down and then smiles brightly at the younger.
"Guess I'll get to have you with me all day," Jimin replies, making the younger blush.
"I'm here regardless."
"I know. And I appreciate it so much."
Their sweet moment ends when they need to head inside, heading toward the far side of the theater to find a spot to keep Jimin's stuff and for Jungkook to sit and watch.
"Can I get a good luck kiss?" Jimin asks sweetly before he heads up on stage with the others. Jungkook chuckles softly before gently kissing the elder, feeling him smile before kissing back.
"I love you," Jungkook murmurs against his lips.
"I love you too," Jimin replies sweetly.
"You'll be great. You always are."
"Cheesy," Jimin giggles before pecking one last kiss to Jungkook's lips and heading up to the stage.
Jungkook didn't know what to expect at a dance audition, let alone one this massive. Someone starts everything off by introducing all of the different companies in attendance who have a representative sitting closer to the orchestra pit behind a table. There are easily twenty people, so twenty companies in attendance, and that thought makes Jungkook nervous for Jimin.
While listing companies, Jungkook perks up hearing Seoul mentioned at one point. And he sulks upon hearing NYCT and finding Mark behind the table. He searches the group of dancers for Jimin, finding him looking stoic and professional, not reacting at all.
From there the dancing begins, with everyone learning the same routine and breaking into groups to perform for the table. It takes a few hours to complete, and after the final group is done someone begins listing off numbers for those who move on to the second round.
"91," the person reads and Jungkook exhales a breath he didn't know he was holding. A break is then announced and Jimin comes hurrying down the steps and up the aisle to Jungkook who is already standing to catch him as the elder throws his arms around him.
"Congrats baby," Jungkook says softly.
"It's only the first part. Still have the afternoon," Jimin says but he is still smiling brightly.
