Two Years Later
"Stop fidgeting," Jimin chastises, placing his hand gently on Jungkook's knee to stop the bouncing.
"I'm nervous," Jungkook admits with a pout.
"Why?"
"Because there will be hundreds of people watching."
"Sure but they are all there for their own people. Just focus on us."
"Easy for you to say, Mr. Principal Dancer," Jungkook sighs in defeat, leaning back into the car seat. Jimin gently kisses him on the cheek which does wonders to relax him, even after years of doing it.
"You'll come find me right after, right?" Jungkook asks as they pull up to their destination.
"Of course. I'm only here for you and to celebrate you," Jimin assures.
"We're here too," Jungkook's dad declares from the driver seat, making the youngest roll his eyes while Jimin giggles.
"Come with me to the drop-off?" Jungkook asks once they've parked. Jimin nods, taking Jungkook's hand in his to lead the way while the younger's parents assure they'll save him a seat inside.
"Have I told you how much I love you lately?" Jungkook asks after they get to his drop-off and the elder dotes on him, making sure he looks presentable.
"You tell me every day," Jimin answers, adjusting the cap on his head to make sure it is straight and the tassel is hanging on the correct side.
"I'm slacking. Should be every hour at least."
"Today isn't about me. It's about you Mr. Graduate," Jimin teases. "You should go line up and I need to get inside."
"Good luck kiss," Jungkook requests, puckering his lips which makes Jimin giggle.
"You need luck to do your graduation?" Jimin questions amusedly.
"Yes," Jungkook answers, although that isn't the exact case. Jimin playfully rolls his eyes before pressing his lips to Jungkook's in a loving kiss, lingering there for a moment.
"Go. I'll see you after," Jimin instructs.
"I love you," Jungkook says before letting Jimin go, watching the elder beam at him.
"I love you too," Jimin replies softly, kissing him one last time before walking away.
Just as Jungkook heads into the auditorium's hallway where all the graduates line up, he's ushered to stand with his major so they can head inside. He's nervous, but not for the ceremony and not because of all of the people. He's nervous for after.
The professors lead them inside as the audience cheers for their graduates, and Jungkook quickly scans the seats for his family and most importantly Jimin. The elder is quick to find with his bright blonde hair in the sea of dark colors and waves eagerly towards him when they make eye contact. And on instinct, Jungkook presses his hand over the pocket of his slacks, fingers curving over the small box he has kept there later.
"I love you," Jimin mouths at him, making the younger beam happily.
Everyone told Jungkook how this was the start of a new chapter in his life, leaving school and starting his career. And there is no one else he'd want to experience this with but the love of his life. And if his after-ceremony plan goes right, his future husband.
He beams to Jimin one more time before blowing him a kiss and mouthing back at him "I love you."
