Jungkook is happy.
He isn't sure he's ever been happier.
Life with Jimin is great, wonderfully colorful, and ––– safe, in a way he never knew it was possible to feel outside his little circle of friends and family.
Being around Jimin feels similar to what it feels like for the younger around Taehyung, his brother, and Joon, yet ––– not exactly the same. It's strange, really, but in the best way possible. Who would've thought it's possible for Jungkook to feel this comfortable and secure with someone who –– well, doesn't exactly fit into the 'friend' category?
Jimin makes him feel safe, yet excited to try out new things, go to new places, encouraging him to just ––– let go and not worry too much about the consequences, and Jungkook – oh, he's a little high on this feeling lately, to be honest.
He's floating in the sky and just enjoying the view.
Enjoying Jimin taking care of him, letting the younger take the wheel – it is dizzying sometimes, but ––– it's safe. It's ironic, really, considering how it all started with him craving something out of ordinary, something exciting –––– but it turned out to be both.
Jungkook never thought safety and this euphoria of just being, without any shackles, could ever exist in the same realm. Yet, here is Jimin, constantly showing him new ways to enjoy life, to find joy in new things, while also making him feel the safest he's ever felt in his life.
How foolish it was of him to think that he had to choose.
"I was thinking about your ––– bed situation," Jimin murmurs into his hair, as they bask in the afterglow of their wonderful evening, limbs still a little tingly and floaty ––– god, Jungkook loves this. He hums absent-mindedly, fingertips brushing the older's bare chest, relishing the way his abs constrict under his touch ––– "and don't get me wrong, I love keeping you company, I really do, but ––– what if you just, I don't know, buy a new one?" he says, the blond lifting his head to look at him, dumbfounded.
"A new bed?" he asks, brows furrowed.
"Yeah, I mean –––" Jimin shrugs, "you can't sleep in it, because it reminds you of him, right?" he says, the younger nodding hesitantly, "then why not just ––– throw it out and buy a new one as a fresh start?"
Jungkook stares at him, blinking owlishly. It makes sense ––– kind of.
"In fact," Jimin continues, "you could just throw out everything that reminds you of him," he says, "or buy a new place, or –––" he licks his lips, contemplating his next words, "I mean, I'm just saying what would help me, if I was in your situation," he says, squeezing the blond's waist gently. Jungkook smiles at him softly, his heart swelling in his chest. Jimin is always like this – caring, always thinking of him, of how to make it better for him, how to make him ––– happy.
Maybe he isn't just happy with Jimin, but because of him.
