The icy wind speeds past Jungkook as he waits atop the slope. He is the third to go in his heat of eighteen competitors and this is his first jump. He takes a deep breath and exhales slowly to calm his pounding heart and he watches his breath fog in front of him before being blow away by a gust.

He eyes the snowy slope below him, examining it as he thinks through his chosen trick. He can see a large crowd of spectators, but they are mostly just little dots in a sea of white. He hopes Jimin is down amongst the dots but forces to not get his hopes too high.

He is given the signal to go and he nods in recognition before looking down at the slope one more time. He pushes off and embraces the familiar feeling of flying down the hill towards the ramp. For his first run he is doing his most comfortable trick and it's all muscle memory for him. He initiates the spin as he glides up the ramp, being shot into the air as he locks his posture and completes the necessary rotations. He lands clean, his arms out to get his balance again, and he stutters to a halt at the bottom.

Usually the first person he sees is Namjoon as he stands near the score announcement zone waiting to discuss the outcome with the younger. But as he takes off his goggles, Jungkook's eyes immediately find someone else and he can't help the laugh he lets out at the sight.

He's being ushered to the scoring zone since he hasn't moved yet, which makes him a little flustered at first especially with a certain someone watching him intensely. He somewhat clumsily steps out of his board to walk better and waits to hear his first score of the day. As soon as he is in position, he has a score.

87.50

Jungkook smiles, knowing it is a decent score especially for his first run and his safe trick. He makes his way towards Namjoon, who is waiting where he always is.

"Good first jump Kookie," Namjoon congratulates, handing him a bottle of water.

"Thanks," he says, slightly out of breath from the adrenaline. "It was my safe trick though."

"It's just the qualifiers. You don't need to pull out your hardest and best just yet," Namjoon comforts. "We talked about this yeah? Comfortable first jump, go big second."

As if he has a radar for a certain blonde, Jungkook can tell he is being approached from behind by the person he saw earlier. Jungkook forces himself to focus on Namjoon instead, but that is made harder when Namjoon's eyes get wider as they look over Jungkook's shoulder.

"Here comes his majesty," Namjoon jokes and Jungkook has to bite down on his lip to not laugh. He turns then to properly acknowledge the person he already knew was coming.

"Look who accepted my invite," Jungkook says, unable to hold back the self-satisfied smirk.

"Don't let it get to your head bunny boy," Jimin responds, smirking himself. He's in a long black puffer coat and a red beanie and Jungkook thinks he looks adorable.

"Where should I let it go then?"

There is an awkward cough behind him that makes him turn to see Namjoon giving an apprehensive but amused look.

"Is this your manager?" Jimin asks, passing Jungkook to introduce himself to Namjoon.

"And coach," Jungkook adds.

"Kim Namjoon," Namjoon introduces himself.

"Ah so you are Kim Namjoon," Jimin says, which makes the other two give him a questioning look. "Taehyung mentioned you."

"Is that a good or a bad thing?" Namjoon asks.

"That is up to individual interpretation," Jimin answers diplomatically. Namjoon's eyes snap to meet Jungkook's with a faint worried look.
