After Friday's opening ceremony, Jungkook became more determined to get through Jimin's defenses. He didn't fully understand what the pull he was feeling towards the skater meant, but he decided to just embrace it. But he had no idea how to.
On Saturday he decided to join Seokjin to support Hoseok in the morning and then tried looking for Jimin in any of the public areas before just knocking on the skater's door. There was no answer, which left Jungkook to have to think more like Jimin and what he would do.
Practice.
Jungkook left the hotel yet again, weaving past people towards the shuttle pick-up area. And that is when he runs directly into his own manager.
"Whoa where are you running off to?" Namjoon asks, amused at the determined expression on the younger's face.
"The ice rink," Jungkook says before trying to pass Namjoon and being stopped again.
"Why the hell are you going there?"
Jungkook opens his mouth to answer and then realized he hasn't told his manager about any of the Jimin interactions. Not because he doesn't trust the man, just because it hadn't come up.
"You can explain it to me over coffee because I have to go over the schedule for tomorrow with you," Namjoon says with a dimpled smile before pulling the younger towards the hotel's café.
"Right. Tomorrow," Jungkook says pseudo-confidently. Sunday afternoon is the big air qualifiers and he somehow forgot because he hasn't stopped thinking about Jimin.
"Please don't tell me you forgot Kook-ah. It's the whole reason we are here," Namjoon says. His tone isn't judgmental or patronizing, just concerned.
"Only briefly. But I am fully aware of what tomorrow is."
"Does your forgetfulness have anything to do with why you were fleeing to the ice rink of all places?" Namjoon's tone has switched to more amused and teasing.
"N-no," Jungkook tries, but the blush on his cheeks and nervous aura give him away.
"Jungkook why do you even try to lie to me? I've known you since you were in diapers, I know you way too well for that," Namjoon laughs, accepting the coffee they ordered and heading towards an empty table.
"This is what I get for making my hyung my coach," Jungkook mumbles.
"And manager," Namjoon adds with a smirk. "So spill. What's got you so distracted?"
"Park Jimin."
"The figure skater?" Namjoon asks, quirking an eyebrow at the younger.
"That's the one. I don't know hyung I just am drawn to him. And I can't stop myself from wanting more."
"More of what?"
"I don't know. His attention I guess."
"Interesting," Namjoon muses before taking a sip of coffee. "I met his manager at the manager's meeting the other day."
"Really?"
"Mhm. Nice guy. Feels like a direct contrast to his client to be honest. And he mentioned you."
"Me?" Jungkook perks up in confusion. "Taehyung mentioned me? Why?"
"Well I introduced myself as your manager and he had a weird reaction. Like he was amused by that I guess. I asked him about it and he just said that Jimin has mentioned you before. Something about the athlete's dinner."
Jungkook groans at that last fact, remembering how he looked like an idiot to the skater. Of course Jimin told his manager about it. They really are close.
