"I've had enough now Elphaba" Boc barks from the doorway, I look up at him from Nessas beside, he's scowling. "Wake her up."
I turn back around to face my sister, she still appears to be so peaceful.
"Elphaba!" Boc snaps, grabbing me by the shoulders.
I swiftly turn around and stand up.
"I won't." I mutter under my breath.
Boc eyes widen and he takes a few steps away from me.
"What?" He gasps.
"I won't do it." I reply bluntly.
Bocs face turns from flabbergasted to simply distraught.
"Elphaba please!" He cries "you can't make this choice for her, please just wake her up so I can speak to her."

After an hour of bickering back and forth, I've finally given up.
I cast the spell to wake her up and now Boc and I are waiting, gritting our teeth to see if my sister really is okay.
An eternity passes and Nessa finally shows signs of consciousness, I watch as she clenches her fingers every so gently, I observe them curl and uncurl.
Then her face seems to scrunch up as though she's smelled a bad oder or she's retreating from the light and then finally her eyes open ever so slowly.
Boc and I hold our breath and watch as my sisters eyes flicker about the room, Nessarose lifts a hand of her face and seems to observe it meticulously, clenching and unclenching her fingers and smiling subtly at the movement.
Her lips part subtly and for a second she looks as though she may say something but she contemplates the thought long enough that she closes her mouth again and for a second I'm panicking that she's forgotten how to speak all together.

Nessas eyes evaluate the room again as she carefully analyses the room and it's occupants.
"Nessa," Boc whispers suddenly, stepping towards her, "Nessa it's okay, I'm here."
Nessa doesn't shift her gaze towards the sound of Bocs voice, instead she stares straight at the boring plastered ceiling.
"Nessarose" Boc mumbles, starting to get more and more fearful by the second. "Nessa will you do me the dignity of speaking to me?"
And yet again, Nessa opens her mouth to talk, but this time she does.
"Are you real?" Nessas voice trembles, she sounds so terrifying.
"Yes Nessa!" Cries Boc, clasping Nessas hands in his.
Hurriedly, Nessa snatches her hands back and pressed them tightly to her chest, Boc looks at her in alarm.
"Nessa?" Boc questions nervously.
My sister looks at me nervously, she glances meekly at her chair.
"Elphaba fetch my chair" she commands finally stringing together a coherent sentence.
"Nessa your heart!" I protest.
"Elphaba get the damn chair." Boc barks angrily.

I'm far too startled to protest, instead I walk over to Nessas chair and bring it over to her bedside, it only just occurs to me that this is her wooden one and not her governors one.
Nessa nods slowly as I reluctantly place her down upon it.
I watch as my sister taps the arm rests meticulously and runs her fingers along the groves in the wheels.
"Thank you." Essa mutters quickly, she looks about the room and all of a sudden races out the door, I turn to follow her when all of a sudden Boc grabs my arm.
"She wouldn't hold my hand" he cries "why wouldn't she hold my hand?"

I don't stop to answer him, instead I follow my sister through the corridors and into the lounge, where all the occupants are more than startled to see her.
Nessarose takes a deep breath before addressing the room, she looks around at all the gawking faces and locks eyes with a rather shaken Glinda.
"I'd very much enjoy a glass of water" my sister says calmly.
Glinda nods and without saying a word, fills a glass and hands it to Nessa who takes a small sip and hands it back to Glinda who places it hurriedly on the kitchen countertop.
I can see is Nessas eyes that she's exhausted, she also looks scared, incredibly scared and I want to know why.
Glinda approaches me slowly.
"Where's boc?" She whispers, trying desperately not to let Nessa hear her.
"Nessa wouldn't even look at him, he never left the room." I reply softly, Glinda sighs sadly.

"She's hurting a lot of people by hurting herself." Glinda mutters "I do hope Nessas okay"
She isn't and I know she isn't by the way she behaved around Boc, she would never upset him, she's more likely to upset me.
"Nessarose," I mutter, she doesn't turn to face me but I can tell by the tension in her shoulders that she's listening "Glinda and I are going to check on Boc, do you need anything?"

Nessa shakes her head and Glinda and I venture back into the room where Boc is, luckily he's not crying.
In fact he looks rather content, he's lying on the bed over the blankets, his hands clasped together over his stomach.
"Boc?" Glinda whispers, approaching the bed "are you alright?"
Boc turns his head towards Glinda who smiles sympathy.
"Poor dear is still very dazed, I'm sure she didn't mean to be rude to you Boc"
Boc sighs sadly.
"I know she didn't, that's why I'm here and not with her, I'm giving her some space, some breathing room."
I find Boc incredibly amicable, he's able to keep his temper with my sister at times when I know I would struggle.
Without warning my mother rushes into the room, she looks rather startled and is breathing rather frantically.
"Mother!" I cry, resting a hand on her shoulder, she looks up at me and her breathing slows to a regular pace.
"Elphaba I think you should come and talk to your sister." Mother croaks, "she's getting ever so anxious."
I follow my mother back out into the lounge and take a look at my sister, she's mumbling something to Fiyero who is nodding politely, he looks over at me and beckons me over.
