Forgive Me?

3rd Person POV:

She never wanted her family to know what she was, but knowing she was dangerous made it bigger than what she wanted.

She ended up also getting Jeremy down as well so she would only have to say everything once.

She didn't say anything about augustine or her feelings for Miranda and Greyson but was honest about the rest of it.

"I'm so sorry,  I thought keeping this from you was only about me. I didn't want to be seen as a crazy insatiable sex object especially by all of you it's mortifying but I never, I mean I didn't realize..." she takes a deep breath, "if I had known I was dangerous I promise I would have told you sooner, I... don't want to hurt anyone, please if nothing else please believe that. I have some money saved so I'll be moving out, you don't have to worry."

"Moving out? Why would you think you'd have to move out?" Elena asks.

"Why? weren't you listening?"

Jenna leans forward and reaches for her niece's hand, "We were listening and granted I'm fairly new to this crazy supernatural stuff but what I heard was the sweet little girl I watched grow up being terrified of hurting anyone especially her family, monsters don't think that way."

"But I've lied to all of you," 

Jeremy responds, "technically I mean you only just transitioned and I understand not saying anything before I mean it's not like I tell all of you when I'm horny," 

"Ew, please continue to not," Elena says wishing brain bleach was a thing.

"He's right tho, sex is always awkward to talk about with family, it's not like I told my parents when I lost my virginity."

"I still killed all those people, how can you all even look at me knowing that?"

"That wasnt down to you," Elena says holding Nyssa's other hand, "You never should have been in that situation to begin with, if Uncle John hadn't tried to kill you... you wouldn't have felt the need to trigger your change, you're only guilty of not wanting to die."

Nyssa has trouble getting enough air in more than moved and surprised by her family's response she breaks down crying.

"It's okay, it's going to be okay, we'll figure this out, you're not alone, none of you kids are. I may not be a natural parent but I can be there for you, for all of you. You guys just have to let me."

Jeremy looks away a few tears in his eyes as well but nods in agreement really needing to hear that himself.

Later that night Elena sneaks into Nyssa's room, "hey you still up?" she whispers from the doorway.

"Nyssa cracks her eyelids open and nods gesturing for her to come in.

Elena joins her in bed, "I've been texting Caroline, she's really worried about you."

Nyssa rolls her eyes

"I know they didn't handle it great but I really do think they were just trying to look out for you,"

"Are you actually sticking up for Damon Salvatore right now?"

"I'll deny it if you ever try to tell anyone but yeah," Elena admits.

"You don't understand."

"I think I do, you're falling for him and he just broke your heart didn't he?"

Nyssa shakes her head not wanting to admit how right her sister might be.

"Stefan kept a lot of things from me at first too, and each time it felt like I was alone in the relationship. Like each lie or half-truth was a sort of abandonment. It sucked but eventually, he understood how important honesty was to me and he slowly gained back my trust. And now I've never left less alone, it's pretty amazing,"

"I'm really happy for you," Nyssa tells Elena truly meaning it.

"And I'm going to be really happy for you one day too," Elena tells her.

Nyssa shakes her head not believing her but Elena grabs her hand and gives it a squeeze, "I will."

The following morning Jenna woke up Nyssa and Elena by yelling up the stairs, "NYS! There's something at the door for you! You're gonna want to see this!"

The girls both came down and outside on the porch were several large bouquets of condoms with red wrappers made to look like roses the largest of which had an "I'm sorry" teddy bear.

"Holy shit, what the hell was he thinking?" Elena asks.

"I don't know but help me get them all inside before the neighbors see," Jenna says going outside to grab one.

Nyssa smiles actually finding the scene slightly amusing she takes the teddy bear and holds it close, maybe she could give him one more chance.
