It was a warm evening, one evening you haven't had in a while and you wanted to take advantage of the weather.
So you and Taylor decided to pull out the bikes and go out for a ride. While you'd normally use the time for deep conversations, you decided to plug in your iPod on the go.
The fresh air was welcoming, and very much needed, the ride was only a mile from home as you followed the trail that took you to the local park. Even in your own world, you were still an excellent rider; making sure to be aware of surroundings and making sure to it have your music on too loud in case you were being honked at. But unfortunately for you, others weren't as cautious when it comes to safety on the road. What happened next, happened so fast that you didn't see it coming or hear Taylor screaming for you as she witnessed the horrific event . One minute, you were peddling on your bike and the next minute, you had come with contact with an oncoming car which held a careless driver.
Once you had come to, you woke up in a bright white room before understanding that you were in a hospital. You don't remember anything happening before blacking put and that had you become scared. Scared enough to begin questions if you even wanted to know what happened that put you here. What came next, came crystal clear that you weren't the only one in the room. As you hear light snoring, while feeling a weak grip hold of your hand, you turn and find a sleeping Taylor. Just as you were about to wake her, a nurse came in and woke Taylor up to alert her that you were now awake.
"Oh! You're awake!"
"How do you feel, baby?" Taylor's soft spoken voice pulled your attention towards her.
"Um... sore, but just mostly confused. I don't really remember much of anything."
"Well Y/n, you were hit by a car while you were riding your bike. The driver was focused on his phone more then he was on his surroundings. You have a shattered pelvis from the impact and you will need to use a wheelchair for the time being. The good news is, you're expected to make a full recovery."
"Will I ever walk again?" Your heart sank at the mentioning of the wheelchair and the idea of it brought you doubts.
"Yes, you will. But you may need to relearn a bit when it comes that point in the process. Until then, it needs to be working the healing process until we try anything."
"Okay..."
That brought your mind to ease, but you were still unsure of it. Taylor noticed your demeanor and knows just how to comfort you.
"It'll be okay, baby. Just think, it gives me an excuse to take care of you, other then the fact you're my girlfriend."
Due to her busy schedule, any free time she has went over to you, even when you'd try to protest.
"That's true.." You give her a small smile in which she returns.
"Aw, there's a smile."
You spent a couple nights more in the hospital before they released you to go home. Taylor stays true to her word in taking care of you and making sure that you're following the doctor's orders.
