It was the sound of Taylor's heavy footsteps that initially woke you up.
Taylor was out late and you believed her to be at the studio this whole time and when you found that wasn't it, you were disappointed in her to say the least.
You fought hard to win the battle of falling asleep verses waiting up for her. If she was going to be later then expected, she would have sent a text message or a phone call letting you know. But she failed to do so this time, and you couldn't help but feel upset because of all the worry that burdened your shoulders. Checking the time, it was just after three in the morning, and you decided you were going to confront her about this. It didn't matter to you if she was in the mood, but when you realized that she had a lot in her, you know that she wouldn't have any memory of hearing what you had to say by morning, and that was infuriating. Despite all that, you couldn't hold in everything that needed to be free and went to greet her with a confrontation anyway.
"Taylor?" You call out, but no answer.
You find her in the kitchen, rummaging through the fridge for a snack. She didn't pay any mind to you until you cleared your throat, she turns around.
"Oh, hi (Y/n)."
"Do you know what time it is?"
"All I know is that it's time for me to crash in for the night."
It was obvious to you that she already knew where this was going by the tone of her voice, you only scoffed in return.
"It's after three in the morning! How much have you had?"
"You know, it's really none of your business. I don't nose in on any business that's yours, why can't you do the same for me?"
That left you stunned for a minute there, you couldn't believe she had actually said that to you.
"Because I worry about you, Taylor! I thought you were at the studio this whole time, you didn't let me know that's where you weren't."
"What's the big deal?"
"The big deal is, if you're going out somewhere before coming home, I need you to let me know. Otherwise, I'm gonna sit here worrying about you like I did tonight. All I ask is for you to let me know."
With that being said, Taylor looked like she was really giving consideration to what you just told her before responding.
"I know, you're right. I'm sorry. From now on, I'll hit you up so your mind can be at ease, okay?"
"Okay, thank you. Now come on, let's get you to bed. You're gonna be waking up with a hangover, you need all the rest as possible."
"Ugh, don't remind me."
As you descended upstairs, you help Taylor with her regular nightly routine before falling back asleep next to her.
