You were sitting out on the back patio, reading one of your new books while enjoying a bottle of your favorite soda.
It was one of the warmest days of the year by far, and you wanted to enjoy it while you can. Taylor was in the house getting dressed up for the day, it was still early enough but she had a another long day at the studio ahead of her. Taylor has been so busy lately that she was gone almost all the time it felt like, but reading is what helped you cope with the loneliness you would feel at times while missing her loving company.
However, the warm weather wasn't what had drawn you to sit outside, it was the fact that you and Taylor had been unfortunately snippy with each other that morning almost the minute you woke up. It was because you tried asking her to take the day off so you could spend it together, but she refused to your dismay. You bickered with her about going to work instead of spending the hours with you while she bickered with you about how you couldn't seem to understand why she had to go and work those long hours. Because you were currently caught up in your reading, you lost track of how long it had been since you had sat there, preventing you from taking notice in Taylor approaching you to let you know she was heading out. Just as she was about to speak up, she watched as you reached for your soda and decided to tease you a little bit before going.
Taylor waits until the bottle was up to your lips before making the rest of the way behind you, and it was the sight of your soft hair staring back at her that caught her off guard before taking a light hold on it. What she doesn't see is how you take a mouthful of it before slightly pulling your hair, causing you to swallow wrong, followed by a coughing fit. Some of it gets on your shirt before slipping out of your hand, making a mess as it lands on your side below. While you're nearly hacking yourself to death as a result, Taylor immediately regrets her actions and tries to help you to gain control of yourself.
It doesn't take long until things settled before the apologies continuously roll off her tongue as she rested her hand on your back. During the time, you reassured her that it was okay, but she couldn't be convinced since it was done by her childish actions.
"No, it's not. I really should have known better then to do that. I really am sorry."
"Okay, but the next time you have the urge to tease me, just really give it some thought before you do so."
"Done deal."
What ended up happening was, Taylor had called the day off to spend with you.
At first, you protested but after knowing it was her way of making it up to you, you let her proceed with it. Taylor is always more then happy to spend whatever free time she had with you, but when it had come to taking days off. Taylor then helps to clean up the mess before leading you back inside the house, at first, you wanted the both of you to enjoy the fresh air together, but she talked you into it after promising to watch your favorite movie together.
In the end, Taylor decided to take a few more days off to spend with you after realizing how much you both missed each other. She also kept her word on not teasing you anymore, but what she didn't know, was that you were planning to get her back in a creative way. Of course you felt awful for just thinking about it, but you already had your mind set to the idea. The last day of Taylor's time off came in a blink of an eye, and you decided to use it as your opportunity to take your plan into action. When Taylor was out of sight, you were planning the idea with Selena, Selena helped you get some fake hair dye to put in Taylor's shampoo and while she was gone, you took your time to set everything up.
The color you had chosen was a bright red and on the bottle it said it would last as long as 40 washes. This was it, this was your own payback. After getting it ready, it was time for the waiting game and set up your camera, hiding it waiting for Taylor to fall in the trap. Her reaction wasn't what you expected, she was upset at first until she realized why you did this and had become pretty cool about it.
"Well... I guess I deserve it for teasing you earlier."
Later on, you could tell she was a little upset about it, but it soon turned out to be something you both laughed at. It was a memory you both loved to look back in together, reminding each other of it.
This outcome made you even more grateful to have a girlfriend who's understanding, who has a great sense of humor when it comes to practical jokes.
