You and Taylor were shopping around the town's grocery store, getting items for the evening meal. This would be the first meal shared together since you moved in, and you were excited. Not only were you shopping for dinner, but for some other things as well, and the deal was, you would both go on halves for the purchase. However, when you saw a lifetime magazine you didn't have, you decided that was one of the things you wanted to get and put it in the basket.
Collecting magazines had become a new hobby of yours and Taylor knew that, so you thought she wouldn't mind it, or at least, wouldn't notice you've put it in there. However, you were wrong, when you went up to check out, she picked it up and looked at as you made yourself look busy putting the rest of the stuff on the counter to pay. Taylor then clears her throat, making you look up at her and to see she was holding up the magazine you put inside the cart. She didn't look too happy and that honestly made you a little nervous about it, so you tried to play innocent.
"Yes?"
"What's this?"
"My wild guess would be a magazine."
Before Taylor could say anything else, the cashier tries to quietly laugh, but Taylor hears her and gives her a dirty look.
"Mind your business."
Taylor turns to look back at you, an agitated look on her face before saying the next thing.
"We agreed for things we need only, I'm not going in on this. If you want this silly magazine so bad, you can pay for it yourself."
Where did this come from? When you first walked into the market, you were both in high spirits, holding hands and all that.
Taylor's mood changes quickly at times when something she doesn't like occurs and now was probably just one of those times. You were honestly not hurt by this, you were just confused so you put the magazine back and continued to check out together. The ride home was best described as awkward, it was mostly in silence and you couldn't help but feel that Taylor was mad at you for this incident. That thought alone made you feel bad yourself and you decided that since it was your night to cook dinner, you would cook her favorite meal to hopefully help her to feel better about his whole mess.
While this was going through your mind, Taylor was thinking the same thing, but in more of a different way. She couldn't help but feel guilty about snapping at you like that in the middle of the store for everyone to witness. The guilt ate away at her and she wanted to do something to make it up to you, even though you don't seem mad at her at all. You didn't show any signs of that or of being hurt by her actions, so right as you started thinking about preparing the evening meal, Taylor announces she had actually forgotten an item back at the store and needed to go pick it up.
"Do you need me to come with you?"
"No, I'll be okay. Just stay home and I'll be back soon."
"Okay. Be careful, I love you."
"I love you, too."
After giving you a hug, she left. Whenever it was just you at home, sometimes the house was eerily quiet and you decided to turn on some music in the absence of her company.
Your house had speakers, so this was perfect. Taylor wasn't too fond of your favorite band, The Offspring, so you put it on whenever you had this opportunity. Your favorite song from them was from as far as right now, their newest album Let The Bad Times Roll. The song was Coming For You and you were singing it at the top of your lungs while getting the meal ready to eat. The speakers were at a high volume range and with your loud voice mixed to it, had prevented you from hearing Taylor walked back inside to see you dancing around in the kitchen along with the song. Watching you like this brought a smile to her face, and she didn't want to interrupt so she just let you keep going until you turned around and saw her standing on the other side of the counter.
Though you were thrilled to see her, she nearly scared the living daylights out of you. She only smiled.
"You scared me! When did you get back?"
"Just now."
Upon hearing this, you go to turn off the music, but she surprisingly stops you.
"No, no. Keep it on!"
"Are you sure?" You ask, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah! Here, I also picked something up for you while I was out."
Taylor then hands you a small brown paper bag, and you accept it from her hands. When you felt it, you immediately knew what it was and you didn't want to accept it at first.
Pulling it out, a small grin pulls at your lips as well as Taylor's. It was that same lifetime magazine you originally picked up to buy, while moments later, feeling bad about it and putting it back in the magazine rack. Though you were grateful she went through this much trouble to pick it back up for you, you couldn't help but feel grateful yet worried at the same time. Looking up at your girlfriends you smiled at her before saying something.,
"Thank you, Taylor. But you didn't have to do that. This is too much."
"It's my treat, I don't accept returns or refunds. It's yours and I expect you fo read it for me, to me."
You smile at her again as she continues.
"This is my way of apologizing for how I acted about it earlier, and I hope you can forgive me."
"Oh Taylor, I already have forgiven you. Thank you so much."
"You're welcome. I love you, (Y/n)."
"I love you more, Taylor."
Taylor won your heart all over again in that moment.
