"Fine then, be that way." Taylor bitterly spits, before ending the phone call."Dammit, Taylor!"
You sat inside your parked car, just getting off from a late night shift.
This phone call wasn't intended to turn into an argument, but after informing Taylor your friends had invited you to follow them to a concert being held in the park, Taylor got upset and started asking you to not go. Of course you wanted to go, and of course you were going to go, it didn't matter to you what Taylor said or thought about the sudden change in plans that night.
The thing was, it's been a while since you had some time to spare with some friends and tonight was an opportunity you didn't want to pass up. As you were in the middle of promising Taylor that you'd be home at a certain time, she got angry and hung up on you with those few words. It did hurt you for her to have done that, and you could understand Taylor feeling lonely without you there with her, but you were about to try and invite her to come with you but was cut off before being given the chance. Turning on the engine, you pulled out of the lot and made your way to the city park for that concert. While in the parking lot, you were looking in the review mirror to fix yourself up, fastening the necklace you always wore that came from your loving girlfriend, Taylor, as an anniversary gift.
Just as you were about to exit the car, you were suddenly approached by two strange men as they demanded for you to hand them your keys and exit the your vehicle. When you refused, they managed to get in before you could lock yourself inside, leaving you to now be in the passenger's side. In just seconds, you realize the danger you're in and immediately regret not going home right away as you should have in the first place. You looked at this as a consequence for it, and it was an unfair one, no one should nor deserves to go through a traumatic event in any form. The will to survive this kicked in the adrenaline and you immediately fight back and act upon the prompting.
If you didn't try, you'd most likely end hurt or even dead and no one would have any idea what happened. The ride seemed to last an eternity when it only has been no more then ten minutes max. Looking over at your kidnapper, you got a good look at him, but his partner was in the backseat so you couldn't see him. It hurts to take in the realization that shit like this really happen, happens for no reason at all. The stress level rises as you felt the urge to give up and let them win, but that was absolutely not an option in your eyes, so the struggle continues. The strange driver didn't do anything, but you felt his partner's arms suddenly lock around your neck without a single hint of warning.
"I'm sorry, lady. You've seen too much."
That's when you felt yourself finding it harder to get a breath of air you need to stay alive.
He releases you and before you can catch a breath, he tries again. He had issues with one of his hands from a past car wreck and couldn't use it as well as the other. This made the whole thing more intense and because you didn't want to live through it anymore, you bark out an unusual request that everyone makes in this sticky situation.
"You're a tough lady, why won't you die?"
"Don't you have a gun or something?! Just get it over with!"
"I don't have a gun... I have this."
When you saw the what looked to be the chefs knife, you began to panic even more, unable to get a hold of yourself. The next best thing you decided to act upon, wasn't for survival but for preparing the end to your last day on the planet Earth.
"Hold on, let me pull over."
"Why?"
"I can't afford to have a mess like this is going to be in my car!"
"Your car?" You shriek.
After parking the side of the road to what was believed as a remote area, you were forcefully pulled out of the door of your own car they planned to rob you of.
Three times you've been savagely attacked, after the first plunge of that knife, you had the idea to play dead and didn't get up until you felt convinced that they were really gone. The two strangers were gone, believing they had left somebody dead, but all they were two fools that they let themselves be fooled. Alone in the dark, you struggled to get up and walked back to the road. The remote, lonely road you struggle to walk on until two headlights of a truck had come to view.
The last thing you remember doing, was weakly waving your arms as a signal for help and with knowing it your call for help had worked, you let yourself fall unconscious.
When you wake, it all came flooding back to you, memories you wanted to have been erased forever.
But you survived.
