CW: sexual innuendos, slight body horror (gotta love Remus)
Sitting down at the giant table, Virgil sighed and leaned his head against his hand. He had set down a bowl of cereal in front of him, but wasn't feeling too hungry.
He was still lost in thought about what he and Roman talked about last night. He hadn't really had time to let it sink all in last night, but now that he was thinking about it... All of that was real. Like, really real! Before he had barely believed there was a god, but now... Wow...
"Uh Virgil? You there, Virge?" Roman asked, waving his hand in front of Virgil's face, making him snap back to reality. The demon held back a chuckle. "Lost you there for a bit."
"Uh, yeah, sorry," he mumbled, picking up his spoon. "Just... thinking."
A bowl was set down on the other side of the table, making Virgil flinch before he saw it was Janus.
"Damn, you look like you're coming to terms with the secrets of the universe," he said.
"Where did you come from?" Virgil asked, looking around. No one was really paying attention to them, getting their own food and such.
"Ah, nevermind, you didn't learn any secrets of the universe then." Janus lifted his spoon and took a bite.
"Heard that someone wants to adopt ya, Virgie!" Remus teased. "Also that you got fired."
"Yeah, no wonder you look so dazed."
"Yeah, n-no I'm still coming to terms with that as well. But uh... Roman and I did talk about some... things last night."
"Oh... Did you two fuck?" Remus asked, making Janus choke on his cereal. He grabbed a napkin and coughed into it before wiping away some tears in his eyes. "Damn, it's been awhile since I've made you do that! I still got it!"
"I would say you got worse," Janus mumbled, his face red from embarrassment.
"I'm just saying! Getting fucked by a demon is one of the most-"
"Stop."
"No, we didn't," Virgil hissed with a red face. "We just talked about the afterlife, demons, angels, and... gods..."
"Oh! Yeah, guess most humans do get shocked and a bit scared when they first learn about that."
"Most? I'm surprised it's not all."
"Nah, there are some people who can see demons and angels from birth and all that jazz so they know. Plus! Some people like Janus-" Janus elbowed Remus hard. "Nevermind!"
"What?" Virgil looked between the two of them, but Janus just ignored him and continued to eat.
"Nothing! I said too much! Please don't be mad at me, Janny Wanny." Remus folded his hands together as he begged.
"Zip it," Janus told him. Remus nodded and put his fingers to the corner of his mouth, pulling it across and making a zipper appear out of nowhere over his mouth. He seemed to have a satisfied gleam in his eyes when he caught Virgil's horrified expression, though Roman just rolled his eyes.
Virgil looked down at his cereal in thought for a moment before saying. "You already knew demons and angels existed, didn't you?"
"Many people who have never seen demons or angels believe in them," Janus reminded him, fiddling with his snake earring. The other earring stared at Virgil with ruby eyes.
"Yes, but you had reason to believe, right?" It was mostly just a guess, however he knew that Janus was hiding something about his past.
Thankfully for Janus, there was a knock at the door and Delores opened it. As soon as she did, several kids shouted, "Xander!"
