Patton held Virgil's jacket close to himself. He felt frozen, completely and utterly terrified. Logan had an arm wrapped around him, leaning against him, just as scared and confused.

Remy's hands were shaking as he paced around, Emile watching him from the side. Emile had a hand on Janus's shoulder, who had taken off his beanie and was twisting it around nervously.

Remus was still holding onto Roman's arm to keep him in place, though his brother wasn't fighting anymore. He just sat there with a defeated look, his eyes glazed over and dead.

After the initial shock of everything, and after Roman finally gave up and broke down into sobs, Remus took them all back to the Picanis' house.

The sky had turned blood red, imps and slightly stronger demons had started to appear, nowhere was safe. Except for the house, since so far it seems like the new protection spells are working, though Remus could feel them breaking.

No one dared to turn on the news, there was no doubt that everyone was scared and in danger. Logan and Patton were able to see all the demons now, was everyone else the same?

Finally, after what felt like hours, Janus asked, "What do we do now?"

To everyone's surprise, Roman was the one who answered, "Nothing."

Remus frowned. "What do you mean?" he asked.

"We do nothing. She won. She has Virgil... His blood will make her stronger... she won."

"What is even happening?" Logan asked. "Who was that? What were those- those powers? And all that cult talk..." He trailed off for a moment before looking up and gesturing at the twins. "And what about those two! Have- weren't-! You both were Virgil and Janus's school friends! Have you always been demons?!"

Remy sighed and looked at Emile. The therapist adjusted his tie before answering, "Yes, they've always been demons. Before... well we don't know how long they've been contracted but Roman and Virgil have been together for a while now. Janus and Remus have been together even longer. Gods, demons, angels, they all exist. And that demon earlier... Alice... she's one of the strongest demons."

"She's a Warden," Remus explained. "It's forbidden for anyone to help with a Warden summoning, since they could bring about the end of the world. Which is what she's probably doing now. As she said, only god's blood can make her grow her power, and now because of Virgil, she has a limited supply of it."

"He's not even finished turning all the way," Roman whimpered. "He won't die but..."

"He has yet to develop any powers. No doubt the powers will be affected by all this... Hopefully he'll get something he can use to protect himself."

"Our son is going to get supernatural powers?!" Patton asked. He hugged the jacket closer to himself and felt tears sting his eyes. "This can't be happening. It has to be a nightmare. Please God let this be a nightmare."

"No god can hear us now..." Remus warned. "I wish they could."

"There has to be something we can do," Logan said. "We have to save Virgil."

"Good luck trying," Roman mumbled.

"Okay, you're really starting to bum me out right now!" Remus argued. "There has to be something we can do!"

"What can we do, Remus?!" Roman snapped, his eyes glowing red. "She's a Warden! She's far above us! I can't use my magic in fights because of my fucking curse! You're just a duke! Janus is a low leveled witch, none of Remy or Emile's spells can work because they're disconnected from their gods! And Logan and Patton are just humans! What the hell can we do?!"

Remus stared at his brother unflinchingly. "We plan, dumbass. Jan and I still have magic, so we'll strengthen the protection spells around the house since they're crumbling. Then we plan on how we can save Virgil."

~~~
There was a pressure in Virgil's chest as he woke up. Everything was fuzzy and his body was numb. He tried raising his head, but it was so heavy.
The first thing he felt was a tingling in his shoulder. He figured it must be hurting, but he was just too tired to feel it, so he tried adjusting his arm. But his arm wouldn't move, as if it was stuck to something.
His eyes fluttered open, and the first thing he noticed was that he was standing up, his back against the wall. The room was circular, the wall and floor made from something black. Whatever it was, he couldn't tell, only that it certainly didn't look like brick or wood.
There was no door, which made Virgil frown in confusion. How did he get here? Where was here? What was going on?
He groaned as his chest started to ache, it hurt to breathe, the pressure making it hard to take in any air. He looked down to see red on his shirt, starting at a tear that was in his chest. Then he realized that the white on the chest was coming from a deep wound.
That's when he remembered the ritual. They were led back to that abandoned house, taken to the basement. Everyone was there, and Roman and Remus weren't able to do anything. And then Virgil was stabbed.
He tried to move his arms again to put pressure on the wound, but the moment he did he shouted in pain. He looked up at his right arm and froze. Whatever the material that made up the walls was, it stuck out in a spike... Going right through his wrist and curling up to keep him there. White poured from his wrist, dripping down his arm.
"N-no," he gasped, looking to see his left arm was the same. He tried to pull it again, only to sob in pain. "No, no, no no no no please!" He cried in pain and terror, his senses slowly coming back to him. "Please! Someone help me! Roman! Roman, help me!"
"So the first thing you do as a god is to cry and beg for help," a voice said, startling Virgil and making him look up. He saw the demon, and his fear only got worse.
She walked forward and he flinched back, trying desperately to calm his sobbing. She grabbed his chin, turning his head side to side as she inspected him. Then she turned her gaze at his wrists.
"Pl-please..." Virgil begged. He was in so much pain, he wanted to be saved.
"Hmm... still just a young god with white blood. It'll take a few days for the changes to be complete. I wonder what changes you'll undergo." She smiled, showing her sharp teeth, a crazed look filling her eyes. "I wonder if it'll be painful. Or if I can tear you apart and find out what will make you tick. It'll be so exciting... my very own god to do whatever I please with." She looked Virgil in the eyes, who let out a horrified sob. "You're going to be so much fun to torture."
