When Roman finally returned, he teleported back into the house and looked all over for Virgil, while also taking his time to take everything in. It was a nice house, everything seemed normal and the only thing that put Roman on edge was the occasional cross he found.

Crosses didn't weaken him, he was far too powerful, however they could still burn him if they touched him. They were pretty nasty, and since they were holy the burns wouldn't heal right away. Once again, Roman was thankful that he was able to dodge the arrow so Virgil wouldn't notice. Though... it would be best if he didn't hide anything else from the human...

Not right away at least, he wanted to give Virgil time to settle into his new home. It seemed like he was overwhelmed, and Roman didn't want to take away his sense of safety. Again.

It wasn't long before he found Virgil in what was his new room. His bed was much bigger than the one from the orphanage, it was a queen sized bed and was pushed to the corner of his room.

There was a desk under a window that looked out to the street, on it was a black lamp and a new laptop. Across from the bed, next to the closet was a dresser and some shelving for whatever Virgil could put there.

Obviously it was more than Virgil had expected, so much more, since he was once again in Patton's arms and crying. The sight melted Roman's heart, he hated seeing Virgil so vulnerable but he knew the tears were happy tears.

Logan rubbed Virgil's back comfortingly. He didn't say anything, and was obviously awkward while comforting, but he didn't need to say anything.

Roman simply sat down on the bed and waited for Virgil to calm down. He needed this, to cry it all out. Sure the room didn't have much now, and seemed pretty bare in all honesty, but Virgil could fill it up. It was his, and this was his new home. It was a huge deal.

And now he has two dads to help him out. Two dads that only have him, and not 17 other kids. They can really focus on him if he needs help, they won't have to worry about taking care of any other kids. And they were really his dads. Roman couldn't wait for the day that they sign those adoption papers.

As Virgil calmed down, Patton pulled away only slightly, but he kept his hands on Virgil's arms. "Okay, are you okay?" he asked.

Virgil nodded and wiped away his tears. When did he become such a huge cry baby? Hopefully he'll stop crying over everything soon.

"Why don't we help you unpack?" Logan suggested. "Then we can cook dinner and we can eat together."

"Our first meal with you here! That sounds exciting," Patton agreed.

"That sounds nice," Virgil said quietly. "I-I would like that." He glanced at Roman and gave him a smile. The demon smiled widely, it was nice to see his human so happy.

They could worry about the angel later. Virgil needed some time to adjust. But... he did need to at least send a text to Remus. Warn him and Janus about the angel. They might be a low level angel, but they could always call in backup. As long as an archangel doesn't show up...

Remus was at the edge of Janus's bed, watching god doesn't even want to know what. Which is exactly what Remus liked, even if his Janny made him wear headphones which, to be fair, actually made the audio better.

Janus was leaning against the headboard of the bed, scrolling through his phone absentmindedly. It was quiet, just how Janus liked to spend his evenings, though it was rare thanks to his boyfriend.

The demon's phone buzzed as he got a message, and he quickly clicked it when he saw it was from his brother. He frowned as he read, "There's an angel in town, they're not a high level angel but be careful anyway. I'm going to tell Virgil in the morning."

Remus couldn't help but giggle, sending a quick message back before telling Janus, "Hey Jan, guess what."

The witch pulled out an earbud and raised an eyebrow.

"There's some holy chicken in town right now," Remus laughed. "Probably trying to be some big hot shot."

It took a moment for Janus to realize what Remus meant. "Wait what?!"

"Yeah, there's an angel in town apparently. Roman just told me now."

"There's an angel... in town. Like from Heaven and all that?"

Remus frowned in confusion before pushing himself off of the bed. "Shit there's an angel in town!"

Janus threw a pillow at him. "Yeah! Dumbass! How was that not your first reaction?!"

"Cause I'm used to messing with angels when I don't have a master! I gotta protect you! And Roman has to protect Virgil!"

"Okay, okay let's not freak out. I-I'm going to finish Virgil's new knife and give it to him tomorrow."

"At school? If any teacher sees that, you or him could be expelled!"

"Good thing you and Roman can put an illusion over it to make it invisible. What the heck is an angel doing here?"

"I don't know, Roman just sent me this." Remus showed Janus his phone.

The witch's expression changed from being stressed out to looking unimpressed. "Seriously, 'Yum, chicken?'"

"They have chicken wings!" Remus defended himself. "Okay, you know what, as long as the angel doesn't ask for any back up from any higher level angel's we're fine. Maybe they're just here to deal with the imps at school."

Janus's eyes widened. "What if the cults think we're the ones getting rid of their imps? The Stheno's won't bother us, but Virgil and Roman could be seen as a threat to them."

"And the Red Tails seem to be begging for a chance to fight with us, those asshats."

"Okay, as long as you stay with me, and Roman stays with Virgil, we should be fine. No separating, and we can't let our guard down."

"Well this happened at the worst time, Virgil just left to go to his new home!"

Janus rubbed his arms as if he was cold. "And hey, as long as an archangel doesn't show up, we'll be okay. So... let's just calm down. A lot is changing and we just need to get used to this new normal."

"Yeah... don't worry, Jan, Ro and I will keep you and Virgil safe. We can handle a little angel if they try anything."
