"Goodnight!" Emile told Logan, Patton, and Virgil as they headed to bed. The two adults were helping Virgil walk, who seemed exhausted still. Roman was following after, watching his human with a giant smile.
Janus finally stood up as Remy came back from putting their dishes from dinner in the sink. The youngest witch stretched as Remus let himself fall off of the back of the couch.
"Well, I guess we should head upstairs too," Janus said, turning towards the hallway.
"Hold on now," Emile stopped him.
"Dammit."
"You didn't think you could get away without a talk, did you? Sit back down."
"Ugh! So close." Janus folded his arms and fell back down on the couch.
"No you weren't," Remy commented from where he sat and laid across Emile's lap, his legs hanging off over the arm of the chair.
"Now, do you wanna tell me why you two skipped class without warning?" Emile asked, folding his own arms.
"Class was boring, that was it," Janus lied with a shrug, only looking away from Emile for a second.
"Hmm, I'm having a hard time believing that. You're acting defensive."
Janus sat up straighter. "What do you mean? I'm not acting defensive."
"Your shoulders are tense and you're forcing yourself to stare at me instead of looking around."
"You can't hide anything from Emile," Remy said.
"What really happened? Did the angels try anything?"
"No, the angels didn't try anything. We actually haven't seen them all day," Janus sighed, deflating and looking away.
Remus stood up and leaned against the couch. "It was my fault we skipped. I was tense and Janny Wanny is too soft for me, so he wanted to skip to make me feel better."
"Oh, is that all?" Emile asked, seeming to brighten up slightly, making the other two confused.
"Uh, yeah? I don't want Remus stressing out, and I was getting a bad feeling anyway," Janus explained.
"Why don't you two stay home tomorrow then? What happened was traumatic, and you both need time to feel safe again. Both of you." Emile looked over to Remus who tensed up.
"Wha...? Me?" Remus asked defensively as he stood up. "I'm fine! I'm the Great Demon Duke of Hell! I don't get traumatized or scared! Don't make me laugh."
Emile rolled his eyes. "Well, think about Janus? Wouldn't it be nice for him to relax at home before going back to school?"
"Just take the extra break, demon boy," Remy said. "There's no shame in resting."
Remus huffed and sat onto the couch with his arms crossed, mumbling, "Jerks. Stupid psychoanalyzing powers that all therapists seem to have."
"Okay, head on up to bed. Don't forget to brush your teeth," Emile told them, finally letting Janus and Remus head on up. He sighed and stared back down at his husband, cupping his face. "Well, at least we know they weren't in danger."
"Well, judging from the fact that Roman and Remus fought an army of angels, I'm sure they would have stayed safe," Remy said, grabbing Emile's hand. "Though... last time was too close."
Emile frowned. "We should try to contact Hera and Hypnos soon. I have a bad feeling about something."
"I do too."
"I saw a lot of crows today, more than usual. I can't help but feel like it was a warning. Something is going to happen. Something bad."
Remy sat up, moving off of Emile's lap. "We should set up some more protection spells. Clearly our old ones either faded, or just don't work."
"That would be smart, we don't want a repeat of last time."
Remy stood up and grabbed Emile's hands, pulling them up with him. "Then let us go, dear."

"Good night, Virgil," Patton told him as he and Logan finally left him alone after they made sure he was ready for bed.
"Night," he called back as the door closed, now turning to the demon that was curled at his side. "It's been years since I've been tucked in."
"Well, you are hurt. I'm sure once we finally get used to this new normal they'll back off," Roman told him.
Virgil leaned in closer, reaching up with his good hand to cup the demon's face. "Hopefully. As much as I enjoy their company, I am almost 18."
Roman purred as he grabbed Virgil's hand, keeping it resting on his cheek. "This Friday... Are you excited?"
"Well, we can't really do anything big. But yeah... I am now that I have a home." It no longer felt like a countdown to possible doom, Logan and Patton were a safety net for when he turns 18. He won't be on his own, he won't have to fend for himself. He has parents, and he has Roman.
Roman moved Virgil's hand to his lips, giving his knuckles a soft kiss. "I'm so happy for you. I'm happy to be your demon. And I'm honored to be your boyfriend."
Virgil chuckled, a blush flooding his face. "You're such a sap."
"I'm your sap though!"
"Gods, you're adorable. What did I do to get so lucky?"
"Um, you were kidnapped and were supposed to be a sacrifice to me."
"You know... if my soul had to go anywhere after I die, I'm glad you're going to have it."
"Not many people would feel that way. Now, you should sleep while you can. Have you taken your medicine?"
"Yeah, we don't need a repeat of last night."
"Let's try not to have another nightmare, I don't ever want to see you so scared and in so much pain again. But if you have another one, I'll still be here, ready to calm you down again."
"I know I can always count on you."
