CW: implied torture (slight unsympathetic Roman, but towards the angels), kidnapping, near panic attack and being unsympathetic towards it
Janus and Remus were already stressed out, so when Virgil called Remus and wouldn't respond they were of course freaking out. Especially since they heard shouting over the phone.
So Remus had teleported over to their home, deciding it would be best if Janus stayed home. Remy and Emile were there too, since they were all in the living room together, trying to distract each other. It had felt like home arrest, since they were all too worried about leaving the house.
And now, the strongest of the four, is gone. But hey, if the fight was happening over there, they should be safe here, right? Janus had wanted to go, obviously, but he wasn't allowed.
It was safest here anyway. The house had protection spells. They were going to be fine. Hopefully Virgil will be okay too.
Well, whatever mantra Janus had going on in his head was shattered fairly quickly.
Emile had gone to the kitchen to get some water and there was a shattering sound from there. Remy and Janus jumped to their feet and quickly ran over.
There was an angel in the kitchen and Emile had backed himself into the counter, a glass shattered between them. He glared at the angel with an intensity Janus didn't think was possible on his adoptive father's face.
"Emmy!" Remy shouted in worry.
Emile looked over, his eyes widening when he noticed Janus. The angel turned to them as well, and Remy stepped in front of Janus, putting an arm in the way.
"There's no need to fight, I just need the boy," the angel said.
"Like hell you're getting him!" Remy shouted.
"You and your feathered friends stay away from our son!" Emile reached over and grabbed a large knife, pointing it at the angel.
"We're not going to hurt him-" the angel tried reasoning.
"You're not taking him anywhere without us!" Remy growled.
There was a flash of light behind them, and just as Janus was turning to see a hand covered his mouth and an arm wrapped around his chest. He shouted and kicked as he was lifted up, holding the arm and trying to pull away.
"Janus!" Remy shouted. He grabbed the angel's arm, but the first angel grabbed him and pulled him back.
"Let them go!" Emile demanded, rushing forward and stabbing the angel in the shoulder.
The angel shouted in pain and let go of Remy. Emile tried to grab the angel to keep him still, but the angel turned around and he lost grip of the knife. The angel pulled out the knife, golden blood coating the blade, making Emile step back in fear.
Remy tried to run towards the angel that had Janus, but the angel disappeared in a flash of light, taking their son with them. "No!" he shouted, grabbing at the air where they were just standing. He was so close.
He turned to the angel that was facing Emile. His eyes widened in fear, watching the wound in the angel's shoulder rapidly heal. The angel still held the knife, and all Remy knew was Emile wasn't safe.
He ran and jumped on the angel, wrapping one arm around the neck as he grabbed the angel's hair and pulled back, making the angel drop the knife and take a step back from Emile.
"Janus!" they heard a voice call, though they didn't have time to look since the angel grabbed Remy and pulled him off of their back. He threw Remy in front of him, and Emile ran to soften his fall, only to be hit hard and fall back himself.
"You bitch!" Remus shouted, teleporting and grabbing the angel.
Roman had arrived with him and quickly went over to help. The angel fought against them, but the two demons were able to pull him to the ground, holding their arms tightly behind their back and around their wings.
"Let me go!" the angel demanded, struggling to free himself.
"Are you two okay?" Remus asked Remy and Emile.
The two of them were detangling themselves, both wincing in pain. "We're fine," Emile said. "They have Janus!"
"Dammit!"
"I knew it," Roman growled. He turned to the angel as his eyes glowed red. "Where are they?"
The room suddenly cooled. It was chilling how Roman had asked the question. It was so simple and yet...
"If I were you and cared about those humans so much, I would let me go," the angel warned. "If I don't return soon, then my brethren might take it out- ah!"
Roman twisted the angel's arm into a painful angle. "Oh we'll let you return alright, just maybe not in one piece. Now tell us, where are they?"

"Wake up," a calming voice said.
Virgil blinked his eyes open, the fog in his mind clearing. At first he wasn't worried or scared, he felt perfectly calm and safe. Then he felt the pressure around his arms and something surrounding his mouth that aggravated his skin.
He tried to open his mouth and realized it was taped shut. He tried to move his arms to find them duct taped tightly to the chair. His eyes widened in fear and he tried to tug free, panic filling his mind.
He tried to shout but it was muffled by the tape. Tears sprouted in his eyes and he felt his throat closing up. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't breathe!
"Stop it, you're fine," an impatient voice told him. He looked up to see an angel, blonde hair tied up in a high ponytail and piercing blue eyes glaring at him.
He took a quick look around, finding more angels there. Some looked uncomfortable as they stood to the side, others looked stoic, some tried to look welcoming. It did not help ease Virgil's panic.
Then he saw Janus. He was also duct taped to a chair just a few feet from him. He glared at the angel in front of them, but he also looked tired. Almost defeated, but not quite yet.
They were in a large room that had concrete floors and ceiling, as well as gray brick walls. There was a window on one wall, though it was covered by curtains.
The blonde angel walked closer. She reached out towards Virgil, who flinched back and shut his eyes shut. He felt the edge of the duct tape lift. "I'm going to take this off now. No one is around to hear you, and even if they were, this room is soundproof. Nonetheless, if you scream it will go back on." She tore the tape off from his mouth, making tears water in his eyes from the sting.
He looked up at her, taking deep breaths to calm himself. "Wh-what... Who...?" Virgil tried to form a question.
"My name is Pane."
