They still had school the next day, even though Virgil was still trying to get used to his new home. They had packed away everything last night, all of Virgil's clothes, his makeup, and the other few items he had. He had brought Purp too, as a memory of all of the things he's gone through.

He got dressed as usual, going to the bathroom to put on his makeup since it was in the cabinet. Roman had followed him around the whole time, clearly anxious about something. So when Virgil went back to his room to pack his school bag, he sighed and turned to the demon.

"What is it?" he asked, starting to feel anxious himself.

The demon tensed up slightly, which did not help Virgil. "Uh, well... I-I didn't want to freak you out but..." Roman fidgeted with his fingers, making Virgil frown.

"Roman, what's wrong?"

"Okay, well, so... There might be an... angel in town."

Virgil nodded. "Okay... So... Wh-what does that mean exactly? Should we be worried? Sh-should... Are they going to do something?" He was starting to freak out more as it sunk in slowly.

"I don't know, I had a talk with them last night, which was when I first found out, an-and I threatened them so hopefully they'll stay away?" Roman's shoulders raised with tension.

"You threatened them?" Virgil hissed. "Okay, I know I'm not an expert at this stuff, but usually being threatened makes people feel unsafe, which makes them retaliate!"

"I told them to stay away from you, and that was it! As long as they do that, then I won't have any reason to attack them! They should know that!"

"What are they even doing here?"

"They said that they are here because of the presence of me and my brother, along with all the imps. Apparently they're not going to do anything with the cults, besides getting rid of some imps. I think all they're going to do is keep an eye on us, make sure we don't have any dangerous plans."

"Great, so not only do we have to be careful of two cults, but also an angel? Oh this is just perfect."

"It's not ideal, no, however I don't think it's going to be a giant problem. As long as we don't do anything suspicious, and as long as they stay away from us, we will be fine. If the angel's try anything, I'll take care of them, don't worry."

"Dude, you're talking to me. I worry all the time!"

"There's no reason to because I'll take care of everything," Roman promised, putting a hand on Virgil's shoulder.

The human nodded, leaning against his bed. He took a breath to say something else but there was a knocking at his door.

Patton peaked his head in and told him, "Morning kiddo, there's pancakes downstairs."

"Thanks Patton," Virgil told him.

"No problem! Logan is going to drive you to school today, okay?"

"Yeah, that sounds fine. I'll be down in a moment."

"Okay! Oh, and your makeup is looking spiffy as always!" Patton closed the door and left.

Virgil let out a small laugh, "Who says spiffy anymore?"

He grabbed his bag and Roman sighed. As tense as everything has been lately, at least Virgil still had something good to focus on. They all needed a break from the tension.

"Good bye Virgil, have a good day," Logan told him as the teen got out of the car.

"Bye Logan, you have a good day too," Virgil replied before closing the door.

Janus and Remus were by a pillar at the entrance to the school, Remus occasionally flicking an imp in the face as it hissed at them. They all had become used to the imps.

"Finally, you're here," Janus sighed, he had bags under his eyes and was looking uncharacteristically tired.

"You two are only here early because you teleported," Virgil reminded them. "That was your own fault."

"Can't we complain about you being slow?"

"No."

"Too bad. Oh here, this is for you." Janus took out something folded up in a cloth. "Don't fucking lose this one, because I'm not making another one."

Virgil took it, opening it to see it was a new knife. This one was a simple pocket knife with a purple handle. The blade was silver, like most knives, but Virgil was fine with that. There was just one small detail...

"Thanks, but I'm no longer trying to kill Roman."

"Really? Could have fooled me, since you didn't even do anything before. Just take it, I spent a lot of energy making it last night, and you need something to protect yourself. Speaking of which." Janus turned to Roman, who had finally made himself visible to the normal humans. "Now, mind telling us what happened last night?"

"Was I the last to know?" Virgil asked, turning to the demon with a glare.

"Yes because last night was the perfect opportunity to tell you, should I have done it while you were putting stuff away with your dads or during dinner?" Roman rhetorically asked.

"Ha! Your sarcasm is getting better!" Remus told his brother, flicking the imp away again.

The imp growled in pain, rubbing at its face before going to snap again, only for a glowing arrow to sprout from it's head. Virgil jumped with a yelp and covered his mouth in surprise. Roman grabbed him, and Remus grabbed Janus.

They all looked over to where the arrow came from, seeing an angel across the street. Remus held Janus tighter and growled, the angel stiffened but glared back. Then before another word, they disappeared in golden flash.

"Stupid holy birds, they think they're so great," Remus growled.

Virgil didn't take his eyes away from the imp that had burned to ash the moment it died. "That... was too close," he mumbled.

"The next time I see him, I'm going to have another word with him," Roman said, letting go of Virgil but taking his hand.

"Please don't, that's not a command but I-I..." Virgil trailed off in embarrassment. He didn't want Roman to leave his side.

"Okay, I won't, I'm not going to do anything reckless, don't worry."

"At least they killed the imp and not us," Remus said.

"Let's just go inside," Janus suggested. "I'm sure we're going to be seeing him more. So we might as well just go inside instead of freezing our asses off. Oh, Roman, you might want to spell the knife so no one else will see it."

The demon nodded, taking the knife from Virgil and letting his magic cover it. "While I'm at it, I'll just spell it so it will always go back to Virgil's pocket. So we won't lose it again, which was my fault last time."

"Okay Percy Jackson rip off," Remus teased.

"What?"

"Uncultured swine. Now I gotta throw some books in front of you. Come on, there should be a set in the library."
