Janus was playing a game on his phone. He wasn't sure if he was going to be grounded or not, but it was best to use his phone now before it's taken away. If Remy and Emile were planning to take it away.
Remus was laying on his lap, keeping his eyes closed as Janus occasionally scratched his head. He had teleported their school stuff to the room, having left it all in their locker earlier.
The door opened fast and Remy looked in, finding them on the bed quickly. His eyes were wide and he seemed tense for a moment. He sighed in relief and went over.
"You two scared the shit out of me," he growled, hugging them both tightly as Remus tried to sit up.
"We were going to be fine!" Janus told him, though he was still slightly confused.
"Can you blame us for worrying! Not even a few days ago, you were-" Remy stopped himself before saying more quietly so Patton wouldn't hear. "You were kidnapped from us. We almost lost you, on the first day you were living with us too! So sorry if I worried when I got a call from your school saying you were absent from class."
"Does that mean Emile knows?"
"Yes, though I had to message him because he was in a session with some patients. He knows you two are safe now, but I know I scared him the moment I sent the text that you were missing from school. He's still on his way home now."
"Ugh, we should have just stayed in school," Remus groaned, before his face twisted into a look of disgust. "Ew, I can't believe I just said that."
"Why did you guys leave? Where did you two go?" Remy asked.
"We were at the city park, the one with the playground and dog park," Janus explained. "We left because school sucks."
Remy groaned. "You need to stay in school, you can't just skip it without warning. If you wanted another day out of school, you should have just told us! We would have let you take the day off! Now I gotta call the school and come up with something."
"I didn't think it would be that big of an issue."
"Dude, I hate school so much! Getting my high school diploma was hell, and getting my doctorate was even worse! But if you're going to skip, you need to give a warning ahead of time!"
"Fine, I'll warn you next time."
"Good, especially since I've had a bad feeling lately." Remy rubbed his arm. "I'm sure it's just nerves because of what happened on Sunday but... Ugh, you've turned me into a worried father. My days of partying are over!"
"First off, you decided to adopt me. Second off, you can still party. I'm 16 and I have a demon, I'll be fine if you and Emile leave the house occasionally."
"Girl, our first responsibility is taking care of you first," Remy told him, booping his nose and making Janus glare at him. "And adopting you has been great so far. I should have known you were gonna be like me when I was in high school... I used to skip all the time. Goody two shoes Patton didn't like it and was always worried."
"Sounds like Janny and Virgil," Remus stated. "Janus was the one who suggested skipping, and Virgil would have panicked at the idea."
"Well, I think Patton has been checking on him all day. Hopefully he's feeling better. I saw Patton while heading up here and told him I brought you home. This house is big enough that it wouldn't be crazy to think you got in unnoticed."
"Yeah, that's true. Am I... grounded?" Janus asked, unconsciously grabbing Remus's hand.
"No, you're not grounded," Remy laughed. "We were worried, and we are upset that you didn't tell us you left school. But you're not grounded. If you pull a stunt like this again you will be, though."
"Ugh, you're a big old softy," Remus groaned.
"Watch it or I'll ground you. You live under this roof too!"
"You wouldn't dare!"
"Try me you demon bitch!"

"Remy! I'm home!" Emile shouted as he walked into the house, putting his keys on the hooks that were next to the front door.
"In the living room!" Remy called as his husband walked over.
Emile took off his shoes and quickly made his way over. He smiled in relief when he saw Janus and Remus sitting on the couch, or really just Janus since Remus was hanging off of the back of the couch.
Luckily he had seen Remy's messages late, so while he had initially panicked when he saw the first few messages, he calmed down after reading that Janus was safe. And that Remy talked to them about it. Of course Emile will have his own talk with them, but he wouldn't be hard on them. More concerned than anything else.
Later though, since Patton was also in the living room. And so was Virgil and Roman! Buttercup curled between Virgil and Patton on the couch, and Roman sitting in front of his human.
Emile saw How to Train Your Dragon playing on the TV, and both the demons were completely captured by it. Snacks were scattered about, including Patton's cookies. They had plenty of those, maybe they should be taken to work later. For now...
"Well, I don't have any sessions until later tonight," Emile said, squeezing next to Remy on the armchair. He smiled as his husband made room, trying to hide a slight blush on his face. They've been married for almost five years now, and Remy still gets flustered so easily. "I'm glad to see you down here, Virgil."
"Hm? Yeah, the-the medicine helps. I'm not as tired anymore either," Virgil told him.
"That's good. Just as long as you don't move your shoulder around too much, you should be fine."
"Once Logan comes home, then we'll all be here. But his class doesn't end for another half hour," Patton said. "And then it takes another half hour to come home."
"Long drive," Remy commented.
Patton shrugged. "Could have been a lot worse."
Buttercup stood up and stretched widely as she yawned. When she was done, she tried to crawl onto Virgil's leg and ended up tripping face first into his lap. Virgil laughed slightly and picked her up, helping her get comfortable.
"It's not close to dinner yet," he said. "We have plenty of time to watch more movies as we wait for him."
"Plus now we have to watch the next movie," Emile stated. "Once we start a franchise, we have to finish it."
Remy nodded seriously. "It's the law."
Janus sighed and leaned back into the couch and reached over to grab Remus's hand. "Then let's get comfortable."
