CW: blood, implied human death, torture
The morning after they had all planned, Roman sat on the kitchen counter anxiously. Remus's arm was healing fast, especially for it being a divine injury. His hand was no longer shaking and, according to him, it didn't hurt to make a fist.
It was going to be soon, they're going to leave soon to save Virgil. Roman just didn't know when and it was making him impatient. Remus had to be the one to say he was ready, and he seemed anxious to go as well.
Roman was trying to drink tea to calm himself when Janus and Remus came downstairs. Janus seemed to be half awake, which was the completely opposite of his boyfriend who was bouncing slightly.
"Ooh, can we get some coffee?" Remus asked. "Remy has all of that fancy coffee stuff that is really good!"
"You know once the smell reaches his room, he's gonna wake up," Janus said.
"So we'll just make a cup for him! I just want some coffee before we run out of the good beans." Remus turned to Roman. "And what are you drinking? The smell isn't really strong."
"Tea," Roman told him, taking another sip as his leg continued to bounce nervously. "It's chamomile, Virgil used to drink it sometimes."
"It helped calm down his anxiety," Janus explained. "Are you anxious?"
"How could I not be, with what's going on? I want Virgil back."
"Well, as soon as my arm stops opening we can go. The stitches help though, so it should be soon. Human remedies have gotten really far, huh?"
"I guess," Roman hummed with a shrug. His fingers were tapping against his mug as he tried to focus on the heat.
"Virgil's definitely gonna get some sort of healing power. Hopefully his injuries can heal fast, we don't have a lot of bandages and medicine. It'll be hard to find any in the apocalypse that's going on right now."
"How do you know what power he's going to get?" Janus asked.
"Well, powers that gods get usually reflect their personality or environment. However, sometimes they get powers that will help them in one way or another if they need to. Being with Alice... he's definitely going to need to be able to heal fast."
"Look, I'd rather not talk about it right now," Roman mumbled, taking another sip. "I would rather have a distraction."
"Then let this be your distraction! Watch me make coffee, and watch Remy bolt down the stairs! He's a dad, but instead of touching the thermostat, it's making coffee. You gotta make him a cup or he'll be grumpy."
Roman watched Remus grab a coffee pot and some coffee beans that were grounded the day before. He quickly brewed some up while also grabbing creamer, chocolate and caramel syrup, cinnamon, and so much more.
Not even three minutes after the coffee started pouring into the pot, fast footsteps were coming down the stairs. Remy turned the corner and rushed to the kitchen.
"Careful gramps, I'm making ya a cup, don't worry," Remus told him.
"Coffee thieves," Remy grumbled, but sat down on a stool, watching Remus's every move.
"You left them in reach," Remus reminded him.
"Anywhere would be in reach for you."
"Probably not the sun," Remus said. "Though, at that point it wouldn't be worth it, huh?"
"Yeah, I would rather not have sun radiation of any kind in my coffee."
"Yup, that would be your biggest problem," Janus said as Remus finished up two coffees. He gave one to Janus, and the other to Remy, before just downing the rest of the coffee pot.
