Roman jumped towards the living room as a giant paw crushed where he was just standing. The smaller hellhound went to bite him, but he grabbed it by the scruff and tossed it out of a window, breaking the glass and wooden boards.

Now that that was out of the way... He was able to keep his full focus on the giant hellhound. The hound squeezed his way through the hallway, knocking over pictures and small pieces of furniture.

Roman picked up the coffee table and threw it at the dog, hitting it square in the nose. However, it just made it angrier, roaring a high pitched bark that made the demon hold his ears for a moment.

When he pulled his hands away, the first thing he heard was a human whimper. He looked back and saw a little hand holding the edge of the shelf the TV was placed on. To Roman's sinking horror, a little kid's tear stricken face peaked out and he realized it was Kayden.

The hellhound ran forward and Kayden hid back behind the shelf with a shout. Roman growled as he caught the jaws of the hellhound before he could be bitten. Without his magic, he was significantly weaker, but not as weak as a human.

He held onto the hellhound's jaws, his feet sliding back as the dog pushed forward. He grunted as he tried to push back, but found it impossible to get good footing.

Something hit the hound in the side, throwing it to the wall and out of Roman's grips. Still, the demon shouted in pain as the teeth cut his palms, black blood starting to rush out. He ignored his pain and looked up to see Remus with his morning star.

"That's what you get you-" Remus started to say.

"Kid! There's a kid!" Roman interrupted. Remus's face fell as he looked at Roman, then around the room. Roman pointed to the TV shelf and Remus spotted Kayden.

"Uh crud," Remus whispered. The hellhound stood back up and barked again, making everyone cover their ears. Remus turned to his brother. "Get him out of here!"

"I don't have my magic!" Roman reminded him.

"Fu- fiddlesticks."

The hound ran at them again, making Remus grab Roman and jump to the side. They landed on the couch, and Roman wobbled off balance for a moment but didn't fall since Remus had a grip on his arm.

The green demon bent down and picked up a blanket. "Go cover Kayden with this and protect him, I can handle this pup," he said.

Roman took the blanket and the two jumped off the couch in two different directions. Roman went around the hound while Remus let go of his morning star, jumping onto the hellhound.

He kept himself as low as possible so he wasn't squashed against the ceiling. While the hellhound was distracted with him, Roman slowed down in front of Kayden and knelt.

"Hey little guy, I'm gonna cover you in this, alright? Everything is going to be fine," he cooed.

Kayden looked at him with terrified eyes but nodded. He was scared, but he recognized Roman and Remus, which is what had helped calm him down most. Roman threw the blanket over him, taking his hand as he turned to make sure his brother was doing alright.

The hound jumped onto its hindlegs as Remus pulled its ears, or it tried to anyway, instead it hit its head against the ceiling. Cracks started to form and Roman pulled Kayden closer, the little boy crying out in terror.

"Remus!" Roman shouted. "Hurry up!"

"I'm try-eee!" The dog shook its head and Remus was holding onto its ear too tight, which had sent him flying. He hit a wall with an "Oof!"
