CW: fighting with a hellhound? idk, nothing bad happens yet but just look at the hellhound as a demon and not a dog
There was a loud, inhuman screeching that came from upstairs. Remy and Emile pushed everyone to the living room while Roman and Remus stayed back, watching the stairs and hearing more crashing.
"Over here, in here, everyone hold hands!" Emile told everyone. "It's going to be fine, just hold hands, everything is going to be okay."
"What are we doing?" Delores asked in a hissed. "We need to run!"
"We are running," Remy told her. "Roman! Remus! We need to go!"
"You go," Roman told Remus. "Get them out of here, I'll get the supplies and get rid of the demons."
"Are you sure you'll be okay?"
"Yes! Go!"
Remus growled before turning and running to the living room. Emile held out a hand for him and he took it. "Everyone, close your eyes! It's gonna be okay."
The younger kids did as they were told, but Delores still looked confused and scared. Remus didn't have much time to tell her to close her eyes since there was a crash behind them. He let his magic spread out around them and teleported them out of there.
Roman stepped out of the way as a hellhound jumped down the stairs. The hound was luckily a small one, and it had crashed against the door. Roman had his claws out and waited for the hound to jump at him again.
Once it was in the air, he grabbed it by its throat. He turned to see everyone was gone before throwing the dog towards the empty living room. The hound hit the couch, and Roman took a step forward to end it, but there was another, much louder screech from upstairs.
Roman jumped out of the way as the stairway seemed to crack and explode, something giant roaring. His eyes were wide as he tried to identify it, and his stomach turned when he realized it was a giant hellhound, one that could barely fit in the house.
The walls cracked, pieces crumbling down. The house was coming apart, but if Roman went out in the open then the hellhound would have the advantage. He didn't have any magic anymore, the only weapons he had were his claws. Shit.

"Okay," Remus said, now in the Picanis' living room. "Open your eyes."
The kids all did so, blinking in amazement when they saw they were something else.
"Where are we?" Sal asked.
"Where are the monsters?" Maggie asked.
"Did we get here by magic?!" Elliot shouted.
"That's right," Remus said, booping the kid's nose. "And this house is safe, as long as you don't go outside you'll be safe. Now I seriously need to go, I gotta help my brother fight the monsters."
He grabbed a blanket, winking at the kids before lifting it in front of himself. He dropped it, and when the blanket fell, he had disappeared. All the kids oohed and awed, smiles growing on their faces.
Logan stood up, looking around to make sure everyone was alright. He noticed Delores was pale, her eyes wide and her hands were shaking. He walked closer to her and she jumped.
"Oh! Logan!" she sighed in relief, pushing some hair away from her face. "H-hello, I um..."
"Why don't you come with me to the kitchen?" he asked, holding out a hand for her to take.
She cautiously looked at his hand, before taking it. The professor led her away from the living room.
"Are you okay?" he asked. "You're pale."
"Nothing is okay right now," she answered with a laugh, tears coming to her eyes.
"It will be, just breathe. I know you're confused and have a lot of questions, I do too."
"That- Remus... he-he has magic?"
"I just found out about that recently myself." Logan led her to the kitchen island, setting her in a stool. "He is... a demon. So is his brother."
"A... a demon?"
"Yes, they're not of this world."
Delores was quiet for a moment as she took all of this in. "You mean... all of those monsters are demons?"
"It's... complicated. I don't understand it myself, and I'm probably not the best to be telling you all of this, but yes. I suppose... we're in an apocalypse."
"Like... a-armageddon?"
"I suppose, but it won't be forever, we have a plan."
"We?"
"The Picanis including Janus, Roman, Remus, Patton and I."
"What about Virgil? Where is he?"
Logan's comforting smile dropped and he looked down at the ground. "It's... a long story. But he isn't with us."
"He's dead?!"
"No! No, a-at least... no. He's not dead. He was taken from us, but we're going to get him back."
"Taken? By who? And why?"
"It's best... Well... He was taken by a demon who started all of this because I guess he isn't human anymore?" Logan held his arms close to his chest. "I don't understand it all myself. But, apparently he's close with Roman because Roman is distraught over all of this. Patton and I are too but... we don't know what to do."
"What even happened? How did all of this start?"
Logan sighed, looking up at the ceiling. "We were kidnapped by I suppose... a cult? And they did something, I don't know what, but they apparently turned Virgil immortal."
"How did they... oh I give up. We're living in a fucking fantasy world, that might as well have happened." Delores leaned on the counter as tears started to drip down her cheeks. "Wh-what did they do next?"
"Well... They used his blood and a daughter in the cult had killed her mother. Apparently, that was enough to summon the demon that did all of this. There's a lot more to add but... There's just so much. So... the demon kidnapped Virgil and we barely got out of there with our lives."
"Are you going to get Virgil back?" Delores looked up at him.
Logan's eyes hardened. "Absolutely. We're not going to leave him in that monster's hand."
Delores sighed, "I think I need a drink. But the kids..."
"We'll take care of them, you can-"
"Logan!" Patton shouted, rushing into the rooms. "Logan! The kids are saying someone is missing. A kid named Kayden."
Delores's eyes widened. "K-Kayden?"
"We can't find him, they think he was left behind."
The orphanage owner stood up, out of her chair. "Kayden!" she called. "Oh god... Kayden!"
