Project 863 - The Mystery

~Chapter 6~

"Don't you have some sort of hazard thing?" Woods asked as Matthias chuckled with them messing with the buttons on the car before he spoke, "This just turns on my lights." Matthias said as he noticed Woods talking about his hazard lights, "Oh biohazard." He responded as River chuckled slightly at the scene she was watching. The two would go back and forth for a minute before Matthias spoke to the group, "Okay, we're going in." He told them as they nodded looking at the road. "I feel like we have to.." Sam responded as Matthias nodded with her statement. 

"No turning back now." He responded as he decided to joke with the group. "If in like 20 years.." Matthias began as Woods cut him off, "They won't." He interrupted as Matthias spoke again, "We all grow tumors? Not me I didn't do this." Matthias spoke as Woods chuckled, Matthias, continuing to speak again, "We all grow tumors of some sort." He continued as Woods went to add on with his statement, "We'll call each other?" He asked as Matthias nodded.

"We'll call each other. We'll go out together." Matthias responds as Matthias and Woods grab each other's hand as River and Sam laugh grabbing one another hand before Matthias grabbed Sam and River's hand while River laughed. "It's weird how much faith I have in Deb." Woods started as he looked at the group, "I don't know why I'm not scared as I should be." He added while Matt nodded. "It wouldn't make sense why after all of this, she needs us." Matthias responded as Sam shrugged her shoulders.

"She wouldn't send us to our death... right? At least I don't think so." Sam said looking at them as Matthias responded. "I'm just happy we had decided to not give the Geiger counter to John Doe." Matthias responded as River nodded before speaking, "Where is the road going to?" She asked curious as Matthias looked at the groad. "We're in the radioactive zone right now. I don't notice anything strange, I'm just gonna take-- Can you do me a favor, can you grab your Geiger counter." Matthias asked Woods as he nodded looking at Matthias as River heard it before speaking up. 

"Oh don't worry! I got it before we left." River told them as she grabbed the Geiger counter before giving it to Woods as he smiled and turned on the Geiger counter. The radioactive ticks could be heard slightly from the headphones which indicated we were in the radioactive zone. River started to notice the ticks to become more frequent as she got confused. "It's going up?" River asked confused as Woods nodded while Matthias glanced over. "What is the setting on. It's on times 10??" He said looking at it as Woods nodded again.

The device would start to go crazy as we get close to the center of the radioactive site. "I'm sorry is that all right?" Matthias asked talking about the Geiger counter as River leaned up some to look at the Geiger counter herself before Matthias pulled up to a clearing. "Guys, look at the plateau. I'm getting a bad vibe here.." Matthias said looking around as the group looked around as well. "It's empty.." Sam mumbled as Matthias went to respond to her, "Something else. Come on let's look." Matthias said as he got out of the car, the others getting out as well. 

"What is that?" Sam asked pointing the camera at dirt in an area that had now become red as River looked at it confused. "You see that?" Matthias asked looking at the dirt as Woods looked over at it, "There's no way that's blood." Woods told the others as River looked at it before thinking. "Blood would be darker right?" River asked looking at them as Matthias pointed over to the Geiger counter which gave Woods a hint that he should use the Geiger counter so Woods walked over to the group with it. 

When Woods was able to test the sides of the spot the group noticed that the Geiger counter had began to peak as he ran the rod of the Geiger counter over the spot as the group was surprised to how the Geiger counter was starting to peak. "That's not right..." Matthias said as River and Sam looked at it while Sam spoke up. "Is there a possibility it was an animal?" Sam asked curious as Woods responded to her, "It would have to be fresh." Woods responded as Matthias nodded looking at the spot. "Like we missed something." Matthias responded as the three walked over to where Matthias was.
