Project 863 - The Mystery

~Chapter 64~

Everyone was standing in the kitchen waiting for Matthias to make his coffee talking about how Scott had to go to sleep in the vault as they joked about the coffee machine heating up and made it a joke similar to Woods before talking about being careful and not to push Scott. Hence, in case he is the murderer nothing bad happens to them. Even if Scott were to get their evidence, there would be nowhere for him to go since he was locked in the vault before joking about if Scott were not to give them the floppy disk Matthias would shut the door on him as River laughed before going upstairs. Before they opened the door Woods yelled to wake up which made River laugh more before Matthias shushed him and made a joke about the stuff Woods did to his girlfriend as they opened the door for Scott as Sam took off her lav giving it to Scott letting him be able to have it as Matthias looked at him. "You willing to show us what's on that?" Matthias asked looking at him as Scott nodded before everyone went downstairs going into the mega desk Matthias let Scott sit in his seat to put in the floppy disk while everyone stood around him while River sat down beside Bailey as he explained how he found the floppy disk from maintenance work and found it in the logs as he began to explain to them what was going on.

"This is Nelson letting Autumn know we're out of creamer in the break room. When he talks about creamer it's a code." Scott explained as everyone nodded explaining how they saw it before asking what it meant as Scott spoke. "Every flavor of creamer is correlated to a level of security clearance," Scott explained as they were able to know that they were right about it as Sam spoke. "We also talked about the idea that like... one answer meant you were on the 'good side' of Syntec and the other meant that... you were on the 'evil' side of Syntec." Sam explained as Bailey agreed to go to continue what Sam was talking about, "Like 'peppermint' and 'vanilla'" Bailey explained as River remembered about the whole mind control thing as she sat there watching them in silence as Sam spoke. "Hazelnut was another one we heard," Sam explained as Scott nodded before he spoke sitting in the car. "You'll see there's also mocha," Scott explained as they talked about how they hadn't seen it before Scott had no idea how many there were but knew there were at least three as Matthias spoke looking at him. "If you're comfortable you can go ahead and read it," Matthias explained as Scott nodded before he continued. "He says we're out of creamer. Autumn responds regular or vanilla and he responds mocha and that surprises Autumn she says sir he says I have a proposition for you, Autumn." Scott explained as everyone looked at the screen while they stood there.

"Nelson says I'd like you to manage a brand new project for me. Think you can do that? This would have made Autumn's day she was desperate for Nelson's approval and to take on new responsibility so she says..." Scott explained as Matthias decided to read what was on the screen as he spoke, "Of course, I can. What are the details?" Matthias spoke looking at it as Scott continued with reading. "I know you've been working closely with D recently, that D is Deb, how has that been working out for you? Autumn, Debra is the biggest asset we have at Syntec. Working beside her is certainly stimulating and I'm grateful to be able to learn from her." Scott read to the group as Matthias got confused stopping him for a moment as he spoke. "She said Deborah is the biggest asset we have at Syntec, working beside her certainly stimulating, okay so Autumn enjoys working for Deb," Matthias explained as Scott explained how it wasn't the word he would use as Deborah was the top shelf,  a syntec asset and Autumn wanted to be viewed on the same level as her but deb always perceived her as an assistant or a helper as Scott also explained how Autumn felt about Deb in the situation as he explained how she was choosing her words carefully as he began to continue about the conversation. "With the fact that whatever you say will stay between us. I see it says Autumn continues, she says it's been working out fine but I do see the arrogance she has that you've mentioned before." Scott explained as Matthias explained how Autumn can lie since that's what she did with Nelson about Deb as River nodded agreeing with him.
