Project 863 - The Mystery

~Chapter 23~

It had been a while since Matthias mentioned how everyone had quit the project. River had officially moved in with Woods and was slowly setting up her room there. While putting up some LED lights as she checked her phone to see a voice message from Sam about 50 minutes ago as she got confused before listening to it. "So I just walked into the front of the blue base the first thing I noticed was that the lock was not set on the front door and the wall of the blue base in big red horrible letters is Can you Keep a Secret.  If there isn't something that you know about them this is concerning. No one else is here yet than myself but I'll send a picture." Sam spoke on the voice message before River scrolled down, seeing a photo of the thing Sam sent as she got confused and felt weirded out. She saw another message from Sam about 40 minutes ago as well as she listened to the voice message again.

"Okay there's another one at the top of the stairs, There's another one at the top of the stairs that says you're not listening, is there anyone else in the studio? Just curious I don't know what's happening." Sam spoke on the voice message as River got confused before deciding to get dressed as she got into her car driving to work. She was planning to come in later since she hadn't been needed for the day yet as she drove to work. When she got to work she noticed that Matthias had been coming in at the same time as her as he looked over at her. "You see what Sam sent?" He asked her as she nodded while Matthias had his camera before they went inside looking at the walls as Sam spoke to them. "Bailey says that maybe these are possibly messages for us. Like can Bailey keep a secret and Sam your not listening?" Sam explained as Matthias shrugged his shoulders before he had seen Woods before he spoke. "Hey look who showed up," Matthias explained as Woods looked over at him before he spoke. "Did you see what Bailey did?" Woods told her as Matthias nodded. 

"I was getting bored without anything up there," Bailey responded as Woods nodded before they went upstairs seeing that there was more writing on the walls as River spoke. "You're not listening. Who isn't listening?" River asked confused as Matthias nodded before Woods decided to respond to her. "I've reverted to I think you're pranking me," Woods explained as Matthias looked at him confused before Woods continued with what he said. "Like now it's all over kind of free all of that. You're bored." Woods explained as Matthias rolled his eyes jokingly before he responded. "Oh, I'm bored. I got one week to myself without chaos and then I was like why don't I create more." Matthias explained as Woods laughed some as he responded to him. "That's usually how it goes doesn't it?" Woods asked as Matthias rolled his eyes as he laughed while Bailey spoke up. "I think it's weird that the only person who physically terrorized us is like locked up," Bailey explained as Woods was trying to hold in his laugh as Matthias noticed which made him speak. "You're just waiting for the punch line," Matthias explained as Woods nodded laughing before he responded. "I'm like this is a good joke," Woods said laughing. 

"When is it coming? I'm not gonna fall for this." Matthias explained as Sam opened her office door as she looked at Woods before asking him a question. "You didn't do it?" She asked as Woods looked at her confused before she explained if he had checked to see if the paint was missing from the warehouse Woods shrugged his shoulders, explaining that he doesn't log any of the information as Matthias looked at him. "Do you buy red spray paint though?" Matthias explained as Woods nodded looking at him as he decided to ask them a question. "You don't think it's Matth pulling this on us?" Woods explained as Sam shook her head as she looked at him. "I found it this morning when I came in and when Matt and Tanner came in they were like 'Okay come on.'" Sam explained as Matthias brought up how he thought it was Sam playing a prank as she shook her head before he spoke looking at them.

"Who is it. This is terrifying." Matthias spoke looking at them as they shrugged their shoulders as Woods decided to speak. "So... Can you keep a secret and You're not listening... I would immediately go to Deb since we just had a conflict with her." Woods explained as Matthias nodded before he responded to her. "That's what she said." He responded as Sam looked at him before she responded, "It wasn't a joke. It was literal." Sam explained as they nodded before deciding to head to Red Base after they had watched Tanner take a picture of a tiny figurine sitting on the table as Matthias decided to joke about something as he stood there. "You live with him as a roommate. He had to have just written on the wall everywhere." Matthias explained looking at River as she laughed shaking her head as she looked at him. "He isn't doing that as far as I'm aware, he could just be writing on the walls in his room?" She suggested looking at Woods as he shook his head before Tanner responded to them. "He wasn't even shocked when he walked in. He was like 'Oh feels home.'" Tanner explained as everyone laughed some.

When they had turned on the lights they saw by the Skee Ball Table in big red letters, 'Help Me' as Sam and the others were scared and surprised at what they were looking at as Sam brought up how it looked like it had been in Syntec location 3 as she explained the words that were shown on the walls at Syntec Location 3 as Woods brought up how the letters looked like they had been phasing through the wall while Sam brought up how it was in the base they had ghost experience with before and the window broke in a blue base. Everyone had headed upstairs to see if they were to find anymore in Red Base before seeing that there wasn't any so they went to Blue Base to be able to check the cameras. When they got to the mega desk Matthias got the computer set up and the cameras rolling before joking about couches for the back as Matthias went to download the clips from the cameras while they continued making fun of how Matthias said something in a way that sounded suspicious as Matthias got the footage recorded. 

Everyone had begun to talk about how it could be another phantom as River rolled her eyes. "If it's another phantom and that thing stalks me I'm quitting." She said jokingly as they nodded as Matthias got confused. "How do we know that there are other phantoms?" Matthias asked confused as Woods responded to him. "Because they all have different body sizes," Woods explained as Sam nodded before looking back at him before responding. "Well, Deb has said that Nelson was buildings an army. I feel like I've heard a phrase more like him." Sam responded as Matthias brought up how he downloaded the cameras as Sam spoke. "70 percent of me doesn't want this to be connected to project 863 in any sense of the world. I just want to leave it behind." Sam explained as Matthias nodded before getting the footage ready. They had decided to start with the downstairs blue base as he explained how he had clipped the footage to before the writing was there till after as they watched the video.

The group had begun to notice that the letters that were on the wall started to slowly appear as everyone got surprised while freaking out as the video had played in front of them. "I don't know what this is," Woods spoke looking at them as Bailey got scared as she spoke loudly. "That's where I sit!" Bailey said loudly as Sam mentioned how Bailey was crying before speaking to everyone. "The glass behind us shattered in the middle of the night too," Sam explained looking at them as Matthias was confused why it was always in that location that sometimes happens which made Bailey speak about how she thought it was a ghost there as Matthias had looked up the term for Phantom as he saw it was a ghost or figment of the imagination as they went back to watching the other videos from the upstairs blue base. They began to talk about how they could have multiple ghost writings or someone is manifesting the letters as Matthias brought up how the videos had the words started appearing one day at a time throughout the weekend happening each time at 3 am. This had caused Sam to freak out as they showed the footage to Lauren and Quinn as Woods mentioned explained how he thought it had looked like they were collecting together to form letters as they also showed it to Tanner. 

After showing the video to people they wanted to show it to Matthias mentions something about how he had wanted to stay overnight till 3 am to be able to see if another one appeared somewhere which had caused Sam to freak out as Matthias spoke to everyone. "We have to make a decision. Who's staying overnight with me? Woods I know I can count on you." Matthias spoke looking at him as Woods nodded as Matthias smiled before he spoke. "That's all we need Woods and I. Anyways, we have to stake out near blank walls, who's in?" Matthias said jokingly before being serious as River, Bailey, Sam, and Quinn agreed to join in as they went to get their work done.
