"Hey, I heard what happened to your sister. I'm so sorry, she was a nice woman." Sean mocked, shooting me a smirk as we walked towards his private jet.
"Very nice." I rolled my eyes, following him inside the plan while his men loaded our stuff. His plane was luxurious on the inside, almost looked like a freaking house.
"Well, make yourself comfortable." He said, sitting down on the seat, "it's a ten hours flight."
I took a seat on the couch across his, crossing my legs as I stared at him with a smile plastered on my face, "so, how's it going?"
"How's what going?" He asked back, leaning in his seat. He was only wearing a plain loose black shirt with ripped jeans. All the tattoos on his arms were on display. Damn, did he look hot.
"I don't know, life?" I shrugged making him raise an eyebrow at me before letting out his sarcastic response, "oh it's going on great, you know— right now, I'm heading to France so I can end a war before it even starts."
"So you're kinda playing the hero right now," I nodded, pursing my lips, "which hero inspired you? Batman?"
He frowned, shaking his head, "Batman is more of a vigilante. Besides, I'm more of a marvel fan."
"wait really?" My brows shot up at the newly discovered information, "me too! Who's your favourite?"
He was silent for a while as he thought of what to reply before he finally did, "Iron man, Black widow, Thor and Scarlett Witch. What about you?"
"The winter soldier," my reply was quick, "Spiderman, Black Widow, iron man, Thor, Captain Marvel. Doctor Strange."
"Interesting." He muttered with a curt nod which I returned, "very. Hey, you know what? You could be Captain America because like... You're American and you're gonna prevent a war and all that shit."
"Yeah— no." He scrunched up his nose, "I don't like him. I mean, he was fine until he decided to leave his friends behind for some woman. Who the hell does that?"
"True that," I found myself nodding in agreement. That action of his kinda pissed me off. Like come on— you've kissed her one time and known her for like a month. Dude.
"Seatbelts." He nodded towards rhe seatbelts. I clasped them around me as did he just before the pilot announced that the plane was about to take off.
"Great." I muttered, gripping the seatbelt tightly when I felt us move.
His eyes flickered from my hands to my face in amusement, "don't tell me that you are—"
"—Everybody fears something, okay? Leave me alone." I cut him off, throwing my head back on the headboard as I squeezed my eyes shut.
"I was just asking." He said calmly, before his tone turned into a taunting one, "need me to hold your hands, darling?"
"Fuck off." I mumbled, leaning completely in the seat as the plane started going up, my eyes squeezed shut and my nails literally digging in the seatbelts as I gripped them tightly.
I heard Sean huff before the sound of subway surfers filled my ears making me look at him. He really didn't give a fuck, did he? That little bitch.
"How nice of you to show how much you care." I spoke, eyeing his phone as curiousity got the better of me, "what's your score, anyway?"
He smirked, "one million, three hundred and seventy seven thousand. Yours?"
"I don't play anymore" I shrugged, staring at his phone.
"Then what do you play?" He asked, glancing up at me from his game before going back at it almost instantly, not wanting to lose.
I took out my own phone from my pocket, unlocking it before listing the names of the games I played, "temple run, hungry shark, smurfs village."
"Hungry shark?" He scoffed in amusement, "you're such a kid."
"Says the one playing Subway surfers." I mimicked his tone, "I used to play that when I was eleven."
"I used to play hungry shark when I was two." He retorted, "and smurfs village?" He snorted before adding, "child."
"I don't know if you've noticed but I'm someone who doesn't have anything to do in her life," I said, resting my elbows on my knees, "I need entertainment."
"Yeah, okay, whatever." He stopped playing and placed his phone aside, looking at me, "you asked about the plan, right?"
I nodded, my eyes falling outside as I looked at the clouds. I didn't realise that we had already taken off— the sinking feeling was no longer there. The guy actually distracted me— whether knowingly or unknowingly but he did it.
Sean cleared his throat, grabbing my attention once more, "in one day, Joseph will be having a masquerade ball. We'll be going there and Mr and Mrs Williams. Their names are on the list."
"So we are married now?" I asked with a small smirk tugging at my lips, "where's my ring?"
"I'll get you one when we get there." He rolled his eyes, "listen, this is important, okay? This is our only opportunity to take Joseph down. He doesn't know how the Williams look so he won't suspect anything. It's a party, he'll be distracted, our job will be easy. We just have to kill him."
"But the security's—" he cut me off with a shake of his head, "the security will be dealt with. Carter's already on it."
"What about the other mafias?" I asked, having told Sean about Joseph's little alliance the day I killed Clarissa, "The Spanish?"
"They aren't going to come to France anytime soon." He assured, "once we take down Joseph, the spanish will retaliate on it's own."
"And the French mafia will be mine." I grinned in excitement earning a nod from him in response, his own lips twitching up a little as he muttered, "damn you Romanos— always got to be powerful, don't you?"
