"I can't believe you're here."

"I can't believe I'm here either," Alessio responded, taking a sip of his cappuccino. We were inside some fancy cafe in Paris, the three of us as Alessio suggested. He said he wanted to— and I quote; spend some time with two of his favourite persons in the entire world.

But both Sean and I knew that he just wanted to get some answers out of us as he definitely did not believe whatever crap we fed him earlier that day— about why we were in France.

"Why don't you just return—" I asked only to be cut off by my brother, "—no."

"Okay." I mumbled, staring down at my coffee as if it was the most interesting thing ever while I try to ignore Alessio's piercing gaze on me. "Can you stop staring? It's uncomfortable as hell."

"No."

"Dude." Sean groaned, "can you stop acting like we came here to give in to our burning desires for each other?"

"Well..." Alessio trailed off, his eyes flickering from me to Sean back and forth before he raised his brows, "did you?"

"Seriously?" Sean questioned, sighing at the end of his word.

"I am not going to go anywhere unless either of you tell me why the hell you two are in France and why people are after you," he turned to Sean, "why you dragged my sister with you and why you did not find it important to inform me about any of these."

"Athena wanted to tag along." Sean said, looking at me with raised brows, "didn't you, darling?"

"I totally did," I nodded, staring at Alessio, "you know me. I like to meddle into stuff that does not concern me."

"See."

"That's common knowledge," Alessio mumbled, "anyway, since you two are here doing I don't know what and I don't think I wanna know— " he paused, shooting us knowing looks while Sean muttered, "you don't wanna know. Trust me," under his breath.

Alessio raised his brows at him which resulted in him shooting him a sheepish grin in response while I let out a dramatic sigh. "Nothing r rated—"

"—yet."

"What—" I cut Alessio, who had his eyes wide opened, off with a loud groan, "—Sean for the love of fuck, shut the hell up."

"What if I don't?"

"I'm gonna shove this," I pointed to the croissant in my plate, "down your throat."

He faked a look of shock, "you would do that to me?"

"Okay both of you— that's enough." Alessio intervened, "Im right here."

"Yeah, nobody asked you to be."

"I'm your best friend." Alessio gasped, looking at Sean, "it's another definition for let's stick together till the very end. So here we are."

"I feel like I'm third wheeling." I spoke up making the two look at me with horrified looks on their faces.

"Go play with your toys, kid." Alessio said, waving his hand at me dismissively. I raised my brows at that, "I'm twenty."

"I can't hear anything."

"Oh piss off." Flipping him off, I flashed them a sarcastic smile before standing up, "anyway, I'm out. I've got things to do."

"What kinda things?" Sean questioned with his brows furrowed as he leaned back on his chair comfortably.

"The kinds that do not concern you," I responded, grabbing my phone which I charged earlier before sliding it in my pocket. "I'll see you back at your house."

"Bye, darling." Sean's tone was mocking, "be home before eight."

"Don't kill anyone."

I ignored their words and waved at them as I made my way towards the door. While walking on the street, I took out my phone and saw a new message from someone; ‘just wanted to check whether you’re alright. You haven’t texted me since last night. Text me back or better yet call me.’

My lips twitched up at that as I called her. She answered on the first ring itself, "thank fuck you're okay— wait, are you?"

"I am," I reassured, "what have you been doing?"

"Reading." Her reply came shortly after, "you know, wattpad isn't so bad. It's a real time pass. What about you?"

"Well I went to an amusement park with Sean which didn't end up well as we were attacked but I took these motherfuckers out. And a just now, I was hanging out with Sean and Alessio."

"What's Alessio doing in France?"

"Apparently he got worried about me," I responded, "but now he's on a date with Sean."

She let out a chuckle before saying in a low voice, "I miss him— I miss them."

"I know." I sighed, "I promise it will all going to be over soon. Just be a little more patient. I’m working on it."

"Okay," she cleared her throat, "but like I've been waiting for two months. Do you have a plan? If you need my help—"

"—No," I cut her off, "I don't need help. I'll be fine. Look, I got to go. I'll call you later. Bye."

"Bye."
