|Sean's POV|
Holy fucking shit.
I was unable to put what I was feeling in words.
Thea was alive. I couldn't believe it. All those sad stuff I felt was all for nothing— when my sister was perfectly alive and breathing.
Although I kinda knew it. I just had no way to figure out anything. It was all so complicated. But there she was, Athena freaking Romano— who solved all those shit by herself. How did she even— damn, it would be stupid to deny that this woman was smart as fuck.
Probably even smarter than me. And might I add— so fucking paranoid.
But it was her paranoia that got her to put her nose in other people's business thus saving my sister so that's good I suppose.
She was sitting across me, her blue eyes fixed on me as she waited for me to say something. She looked nervous— almost scared as if what she just told me would made me angry. Why would it? If anything, I was kinda thankful that she existed. Of course, I was never gonna tell her that. She'd probably never let that go if I did.
"So?" She broke the silence, raising her brows, "say something."
"Like what?"
"I don't know, maybe that you don't wanna kill me for hiding the fact that your sister's alive from you." She said in one go, a bit quickly before letting out a loud sigh when she was done.
"Yeah, about that—" I took a deep breath, shooting her a fake angry look, "how could you do this? I don't understand why you had to hide this from me." I totally understood.
"I— it wasn't safe." She muttered, a frown settling on her face as if what I was saying was absurd. "I told you."
"What do you mean, it wasn't safe?" I questioned, keeping up with the perfect acting, "I can offer her protection you can't."
"Yeah you could," she stated, "but people would've known that you're protecting her so the whole purpose of her faking her death would've been useless, dumbass."
"Yeah, whatever." I waved her off, "when am I seeing my sister?" I was excited to see her. Fuck, I missed her so much.
"When we've gotten rid of Matteo," she responded, "when it's safe."
"So what, are you two like besties now?"
"You can put it like that," she muttered, rolling her eyes, "yeah, we're pretty close."
"How's she?"
"She feels guilty for what happened to Matteo's daughter but I keep telling her that she deserved it. Hopefully, she'll... I don't know, understand one day." After a second of silence, she continued to speak, "she misses you and Alessio greatly. Honestly, the number of stuff she's told me about you is insane."
"What'd she say?"
"Nothing bad, really." She assured although there was a hint of sarcasm in her tone which made me furrow my brows. "Anyway, I'm tired. We'll be reaching in like... hours so maybe we should go over the plan once again."
"I've already sent a couple of my men to London, they're waiting for us there." I informed, "I've also sent some of them to keep an eye on that child and crush of his. They're ready to kidnap them any second."
"You work quick, I like it." She muttered— apparently, without realising what she said as her eyes grew wide and she clamped her lips shut.
"I know, I do." I shot her a smirk, grabbing my laptop before placing it on my lap. Her eyes followed my movement, keeping them fixed on the laptop. I decided to tease her, "you wish that was you, hmm?"
"What? No!" She shot me a look of fake disgust, "I was just wondering what you're doing."
"You could've asked instead of picturing yourself in the place of my laptop." I said with my smirk still tugging at my lips which resulted in her rolling her eyes, "I hate you so much."
"We both know that's a lie."
"You don't know shit."
"Whatever helps you sleep," I shrugged before starting my work on the screen in front of me. I still had a company to run.
After around five minutes of silence, I assumed she got bored just sitting there and staring at me since I could feel her burning state on me. She let out a loud sigh as the question left her, "what are you doing?"
"Working." I replied without bothering to look at her.
"On?"
"Stuff."
"What stuff?" She was staring to get annoyed, judging by her tone.
"Stuff that does not concern you."
She huffed at my answer, "I honestly don't know why I thought that talking to you might lessen my boredom."
"You're not talking to me, you're prying." I stated, finally looking at her as she replied, letting out a small yawn, "I'm prying by talking to you."
"Go to sleep," I observed the dark circles under her eyes, "you look like you need it. There's still time before we reach."
"I should do that." She muttered with a nod, "yeah. I do need sleep."
"There's a bedroom at the back."
She stood up, making her way there before she turned around and glanced at me, "wake me up before we reach."
