|Athena's POV|

We landed in London around two hours ago and currently, we were on our way to that warehouse where Sean told me he was keeping Matteo's 'crush' as he'd like to call it. Her name was Emma.

Arriving at the warehouse, Sean's men nodded at him as they allowed us in. The place was dark, grunts and loud breathings could be heard.

"Who's here?" Emma asked, fear clear in her tone, "please— I don't know anything! Don't hurt me!" She couldn't see us since we were standing in the dark, the door was closed and there wasn't really windows in that place.

Sean walked over to some corner before switching on the lights, revealing a blonde woman tied to a chair. She was sweating, strands of her hair was sticking on her face.

Her dull brown eyes landed on us— no, on Sean and they widened in what I assumed was recognition and fear. "I— I know you. Y—You're Sean— you—you're the one who killed Roth!"

I watched as Sean's brows scrunched up in confusion, "I killed who now?"

"M—my b-brother," the woman stuttered out, "you killed him."

"Oh, Roth—" Sean nodded in realisation, letting out a small scoff as he did so, "yeah, I remember that one. It did try to attack me, to be fair. It was self defense and it's been three years, darling. Get over it."

"What do you want with me?"

"Nothing, love," I flashed her a reassuring look, "you're only our bait. We won't hurt you."

"Unless you try to do something that would piss us off." Sean quickly added, "like escaping and all that shit, you know?"

"Please don't kill me—" she begged, tears falling from her eyes, "I... I have a child."

I was about to say something but Sean beat me up to it as he asked in a bored tone, staring at her blankly, "what do you want us to do, clap?"

"I—" the woman cut herself off, shaking her head, "what do I have to do?"

"Just sit tight and relax," Sean responded, walking over before leaning against the wall, "while we wait for your lover to come and save you."

"Where's my son?"

"Safe."

"Oh please," Emma scoffed, rolling her eyes, "no child is truly safe at the hands of a mafia leader."

"Yeah well that child is the child of a mafia leader," Sean retorted, "you should've thought of that before fucking one."

Emma was clearly taken aback by his response as her eyes grew wide for a second before she cleared her throat and looked away.

"Matteo should be here any minute now," Sean's voice made me look at him, "he isn't gonna come alone as per the request. They never do."

Of course.

"You two are playing a dangerous game." Emma spoke up in a warning voice, "Matteo... He will kill you both."

"I'd like to see him try," Sean took out his phone, "he's all big talk that guy and no actions. I know him."

"No you don't. He makes people think he's a joke but he's not." She said and you could hear the faint accent, "he's a beast!"

"Beast in bed, maybe." Sean mocked making her face go red. "But no, really. He's only made eight kills in his entire life— and that too, of innocents. That's nothing. He's only ever killed defenceless people."

"How many kills have you made?"

"I lost count—" he responded, typing on his phone screen.

"Why would you kill so many people?"

"They deserved it." He replied simply, "some, however don't." Just then, his phone beeped with a message. He looked up at me from the screen, "he's here."

"Alone?" I questioned to which he shook his head, "followed by three cars. Good thing I've placed men on every single corner of the way here."

The door flew open and one of Sean's man informed us, "the three other cars stopped a mile away. He's driving towards the warehouse alone."

"The others are gonna deal with the other cars." Sean stated, "let Matteo inside when he gets here after disarming him."

"Consider it done, boss." The man nodded before leaving, closing the door again. I turned to Emma who clearly looked scared, she was trembling as she stared at us, "if anything happens to me, please take care of my child."

"Stop being dramatic woman," Sean rolled his eyes, paying no attention to her word, "nothing's gonna happen to you. Even if something does happen, no, I'm not taking care of your child." He glanced at me as he said the last part, "I'm already on babysitting duty."

"You're the one who wanted to tag along, asshole."

Before he could say something back, his phone beeped again making him look at the message. His brows furrowed as he read the content, "he's here. He came disarmed."

"Why would he do that?"

"Because he thinks his men would save him," Sean replied, shoving his phone back in his pocket, "how truly pathetic."

The sound of the door slowly being pushed open grabbed both our attentions as we turned around and found one of Sean's man holding Matteo by the back of his neck as he pushed him inside making the man fall on the ground in front of us.

What a sight.

"Would you look at that?" Sean began, "if it isn't the Matteo... I forgot your last name."

"Fuck you!" Matteo spat, eyes holding fury as he looked up at us, "let her go. Your fight's with me, not her. And— where's my child?"

"Not here." I replied, "but don't worry, we only want to hurt you."

"That's reassuring." Matteo's tone was laced with sarcasm. However, there was something in his eyes like he was not scared to be there. Like... He was certain that nothing was going to happen to him. Clearly, he thought that his men would get him out of here.

Little did he know.
