|Athena's POV|

Weeks had gone by since what happened in the office with Sean. Neither of us talked about it again. There was some sort of silent agreement between us that we wouldn't speak of it again.

It was finally the day where we were going to that Charity Ball thing as per Alessio's request. Sean had told me that a lot of those CEOs who knew about them were going to be there which was a perfect opportunity to take them down. I wasn't sure what he meant by take them down but I sure as hell wasn't going to sweet talk them into backing off.

However, as I stared at the racks of dresses in front of me, I couldn't help but have this feeling that something was going to go wrong tonight.

"Excuse me?" The voice of one of the unknown women in my room snapped me out from my thoughts. I raised my brows at her in response as she said, "the ball is in two hours and you have yet to select a dress. You're going to be late."

Did I mention that Sean brought in his group of people to help me get ready? Yes? No? Well, he did. He left me to suffer with this group of insurable idiots while he was in his own room, getting ready. We were in his house since we were going together. He figured it would be best if we were in the same place already. And that was fine with me considering the fact that I didn't own one single gown.

I allowed my eyes to go from dress to dress, each prettier than the others. Damn, they must cost a fortune. Since the theme was red and black, the dresses were either red or black or a mixture of both.

"I'd recommend this one," one of the women said, going to grab one of the dresses from the rack. She pulled it off and held it in front of me so I'd get a better look. It was a long, pretty, wine red dress with a slit in the legs. There was only one sleeve along with an outer satin glittery layer kinda thing. "Try this one. I think it will fit you perfectly."

Just as I grabbed the dress from her, the door to the room flung open, revealing Sean who was wearing a wine red suit, coincidentally matching the dress in my hands. He raised his brows at me, allowing his eyes to trail across my figure. I was in an over sized shirt. My makeup and hair were already done though.

"You're still not ready?" he questioned as he closed the door behind him, "we're gonna be late."

"If anything we're gonna be early," I retorted, "we still have two hours to kill."

"One hour and thirty minutes, precisely," he corrected as he walked towards the bed, "and it's a long drive." He then sat on the bed, ignoring the looks the women present in the room were sending him. "Now slide that dress on so we can be on our way."

I rolled my eyes at him and didn't bother to go to the bathroom as I took off the shirt, standing there in my matching underwear. Nothing he haven't seen before, right?

I glanced at the man in question to find him staring at me— well, my body, precisely. Then his eyes met mine and he stared at me for a solid minute with a look of indifference on his face and his lips pursed before he finally spoke, "you know, it's like you're asking me to fu—" he then instantly cut himself off upon realising the presence of the two other women in the room. We looked at them and saw that their faces were red as their eyes faced the ground. Way to go, Sean.

"When we get back," he muttered, shooting me a nod which somehow made me bite my lip to prevent a smile from breaking out. I then unzipped the dress and put it on from below. When I was done, one of the women were about to come and zip the dress back up when Sean decided to stand up and stop her, "I'll do that. You two can leave now."

The women said nothing but only gave him a nod before they grabbed their things and left the room. Sean walked behind me and zipped the dress very slowly as he allowed his fingers to trail on my back. "You do what's going down tonight, don't you?"

"I do," my voice was lower than I expected. "I think something's gonna happen tonight," I turned to face him and watched as he raised his brows, "what do you mean?"

"I have this weird bad feeling—" I paused, biting my lip as I thought of all the times I've had a bad feeling and bad things did indeed happen, "— that something's gonna go wrong tonight."

"Are you psychic?" He half-joked, letting out a small chuckle which died down when he saw the look of seriousness adorning my face, "all right, you know what? Even if something does happen, we're gonna get through it together." His hand reached out to hold mine making me stare at our linked hands, awed how they fit together so perfectly well. "So, shall we?"
