"What the fuck are you guys doing here?" I heard Alessio ask as I made my way downstairs after washing my hands and changing outfit since it was covered with blood. Alessio lended me one of his shirts.
"Thought we'd come to visit since we barely see you these days," an unfamiliar voice replied making my eyes widen.
Holy shit.
"Look, I'm busy right now. Why don't you guys come back later?" Alessio asked as I slowly backed away from the stairs and hid behind a pillar to sneak on them. My eyes landed on several people standing there in front of Alessio.
There were four children—well two of them were more like babies. I recognized them all but I couldn't exactly remember their names. Alessio did show me pictures of them. They sounded fun from what he's told me.
My eyes flickered to a familiar guy standing beside the small boy. Fucking hell—what was he doing here?
"No can do," an elderly woman stepped towards him, "we've barely heard of you this whole month."
"I've been talking to Sean," Alessio pointed to him, "you know what? Next time, let me know. I'll send you my picture everyday so you can see me, alright?"
"I told them the same thing," Sean muttered, annoyance dripping from his tone as he walked over to the small bar. He poured himself a glass of whiskey and lazily walked over to a couch before sitting down. The three kids followed him like lost puppies as they sat down on either side of him, the younger boy sitting down on the small table in front of him while the baby was being held by who I assumed was Azalea.
"Now that we are here, we are not leaving anytime soon!" An older man joined in, making his way towards the couch as well. He sat down and relaxed. The others shared a look before following the old man's action except Alessio who stood there, looking at them.
"Seriously?" Alessio groaned, throwing his head back dramatically. I rolled my eyes and almost let out a scream when my eyes fell on a big black spider just a few inches away from my face, staring right at me in my face.
"Fuck, dude—you scared the crap out of me," I whispered to the spider who stayed there and stared at me. I've always liked spiders, for some reason. I find them cute and intriguing. Fine, they might look just a little creepy but seriously, I like them. "I'm trying to stay hidden here."
"Alright so, you guys have fun in my house without me," Alessio said as he took out his keys from his pocket and showed it to them, "I have somewhere to be."
"Yeah, bye." Sean waved his hand at him once, as if dismissing him. He seemed absolutely care free, snorting and laughing at what one of the kids said. He was so different from the guy who kidnapped me. What if he had a twin? That would be double jackpot.
What the fuck is wrong with me?
"The only place you have to be is here." The older man spoke seriously, motioning his fingers around him.
The smaller boy cleared his throat making everyone shift their attention to him. He was sitting on the table, bouncing his legs. "Hello," He gave them a nod and a grin. How old was that kid? He couldn't look older than five or something. He must be Nick, I think.
"What is it?" Sean inquired, raising his brows at the kid who shrugged, "nothing, just wanted to talk. Anyway, where's Shadow?"
"He must be somewhere around," Alessio replied, returning his attention back to the others, "so, like I was saying, I've got things to do and places to be."
"No, you're not going anywhere," it was an older woman who spoke up this time. She was probably Elizabeth, Alessio’s and Azalea’s mother. I wasn't sure though. "You are going to stay here and spend time with your family whether you like it or not."
Yeah, definitely their mother judging by the authority in her tone. Who else would dare to speak to them like that?
It was at that moment that Sean stood up and walked back to the bar. He began refilling his glass, ignoring what was going on around him. Nick got off the table and followed him. He seemed to like Sean and vice–versa. Cute.
"What do you want me to do?" Alessio asked, annoyance clear in his tone. His mother shot him a glare in response. Okay, I did not like that woman.
"You're still not over her death?" My brows furrowed at her words as she continued, "it's been three months, Alessio. Get over it!" My eyes widen. She did not just—
Sean shot the woman a glare. It was the kind of glare that would make you want to hide yourself from that person.
"Did you fucking drink before coming here?" Alessio snapped, not bothering to watch his tone, "are you even conscious of what you're saying?"
"I am fully aware!" Elizabeth snapped back. I leaned in comfortable on the pillar, making sure to stay hidden as I attended their family drama time. "Thea is dead and she is not coming back. You have to get over her. Find a new girlfriend or something! You're only twenty three! You cannot live the rest of your life mourning your dead girlfriend! She wasn't that perfect anyway. There's a ton of other girls out there who's better than her."
"Woman, shut the fuck up." Sean's voice was cold and emotionless which sent chills down my spine. He was not shouting, his voice was just loud. My eyes landed on his knuckles which were turning white, wrapped tightly around glass in his hand. Did he seriously spoke to his best friend's mother in that way?
Good, she deserved it.
"Thea was not only his girlfriend but my sister as well," he continued, his eyes fixed on her as he ignored everyone else around him, "if you can't fucking respect her, at least don't do it in front of me unless you want to receive a damn bullet through your thick skull."
But for real though, how fucking dared she?
