Where's Your Happy Place?

(heatwaves do weird things to my head. This one just came out of nowhere, hope you enjoy)

It was little Brian's bed time. He had had his bath, courtesy of Dom. He had gotten into his favourite set of pyjamas with a black Dodge Charger on the top, with assistance from Letty.

"alright, little man, teeth done?". Dom asked his son. "yep. Mommy helped me make them sparkly". He said as he flashed a big smile. "good job". Dom said as he ruffled his sons curls.

"Daddy, can I ask you a question?". Brian asked, innocently. "you can ask me and mommy anything, you know that, bud" Dom replied as he awaited for Brian to continue. "what's a happy place?" Brian asked. "a happy place, huh, where'd you pick that up?". Dom asked as he thought up an answer. "when Aunt Mia burned herself off the barbecue earlier today, she kept saying to find your happy place". Brian said.

Dom chuckled and thought to himself "at least she didn't say anything worse than that". He pondered the question for a few more seconds before speaking. "a happy place is somewhere where picture in your mind to help keep you calm and happy when you are doing something scary or something bad happens to you". He explained to him.

Brian took the information and pondered. "where is your happy place, daddy?" Dom smiled and thought for a second. "my happy place is Sunday barbecues. All of the family comes together, we laugh and talk. It's peaceful". He says with a smile as he imagined the sight that occurs every Sunday afternoon.

Brian nodded. "Where's your happy place, mommy?" he asked. Dom turned to see Letty leaning against the door frame with a smile before straightening herself and walking closer to the small bed thst occupied the little boy.

"hmmn... My happy place is right here". She said, her voice soft in tone and playful as she looked at Dom with a smile. "my bedroom?" Brian asked confused. "no, baby. You and your father. You are my happy place". She smiled. "you and daddy are my happy place too, mommy". he said as he gave Letty and Dom a big (as big as his little body could) hug.

"now, time for sleep, buddy". Dom said gently as he kissed his sons forehead. "goodnight, son". Letty did the same. "goodnight, baby". Brian turned on his side, clutching his bear. "night mommy, night daddy". He mumbled as he drifted to sleep.
