Even the strongest of us have our off days. Letty Torretto is no exception. The past few days were both some of the worst, but also some of the most rewarding.

She hadn't ever imagined herself becoming a mother in this particular way, but she still considered it a blessing.

Letty didn't spend much time around kids, usually her nephew and niece at Christmas or other holidays where the family got together. But she was certain that Little Brian was definitely the cutest little man she had ever seen.

From the moment she had seen him waddle alongside  his dad to shyly introduce himself, she was wrapped around his little finger.

As fun as it was to be a mother, it also came with some... less desirable moments. Little Brian was an angel and only asked for things when he needed them. However this would sometimes lead to him not wanting to bother his parents and just hold out. Which had quite a nasty result, recently.

It was his bath time. And Letty had made sure the bath was not too hot that it would hurt him. Dom had been called away on a very sudden piece of business involving Buddy and the race track, so it was just her and little B alone for the first time.

Once she had made sure he was good and safe in the tub, she went to relax on the couch.  Taking care of a two year old was very tiring. She didn't know exactly when it happened, but she nodded off. Leaving little B unaware of this.

Brian had had his fun in the tub and eas about to call to be help d out, but that's when he saw Letty asleep on the couch. Being the little angel he was, he wanted her to remain asleep. So he decided to let himself out of the bath.

He climbed out and tried to reach for the towel that Letty had left saved for him, however it got a little stuck and as he tried harder to pull it came unstuck and he quickly shot backyards.

Trying to save himself, he grabbed the curtain, but the rail came off the hook. Thankfully it didn't hit him. But the noise woke Letty up.

She turned quick on her heels. And ran to the bathroom. "B, are you ok?!!!" She asked as she checked him over looking for any cuts or bruises. Brian just started crying. "I...I'm sorry, momma. I didn't mean to wake you". He cried. "oh honey don't worry. I shouldn't have fallen asleep while you were in the tub. It was all my fault, I'm not very good at this whole 'mom' thing". She said as she cradled the little boy.

Brian sniffed and wiped a few tears away. "That's not true...momma.. you are the best momma ever". He said as he fiddled with the silver cross hanging across her chest.

It's one thing hearing your husband assure you that you are enough for the child you are guardian of, but it's a whole different thing hearing said child tell you themselves. Especially when they are so young and innocent.

Letty felt herself get hit with a wave of relief and joy. She let a few uncharacteristic tears leave her eyes and she hugged the boy.

"Thank you, little man. I needed to hear that" she said as she kissed his little head. She stood up with him still in her arms. "Now, let's clean this up before Daddy gets home. And...uh...let's not tell him about this, ok B?" She said.

Little Brian held out his little finger and said "Pinky promise, momma". Letty wrapped her pinky around his and smiled.

They cleaned up the mess in no time at all and then they sat on the couch. Brian now in his favorite pyjamas with a black charger on them. Letty wrapped her arms around the boy and she soon fell asleep. Brian looked up to see his mother's closed eyes and saw no reason why he shouldn't go for an early night as well.

He nezled into Letty's arms a little further and kissed her hand. "I love you momma" he whispered. within a few minutes, he too was fast asleep.

The end.
