She had not had the door open for  even a second before she leapt forward and jumped straight down into the water. It was cold and the water burned her eyes, as she tried to seek her husband out.

But still she kept them open, she had to get to him. She couldn't live in a world where he wasn't present. Where she would have to go home and tell their boy that Daddy wasn't coming back.

She was running out of time. But then she saw him. Eyes closed. He looked at peace. She swam down with all her might and grabbed him. He briefly opened his eyes and then closed them. She prayed to whatever god was over her right now that they would open again.

Dom being much bigger than her didn't help in trying to get him to surface. Eventually she got them both to surface. The rest of their family was there. "Guys!!..... "She called desperately.

"Over here!!" Roman and Mia scrambled over and grabbed Dom's body from on top of her. Mia then turned back to grab her sister-in-law.

Once on a hard surface, Letty breathed heavily, On her hands and knees. She shook herself and then began performing CPR on Dom. This all felt a little too familiar. It felt like the last time she thought he was gone for good. The stakes were much higher this time, however.

Dom coughed up some water signalling he was able to breathe again. But he didn't regain consciousness. Letty's heart sank even further

Mia ran over to Letty. "He'll be ok, Let. He knows what he's still got here". She said as she hugged her. "Let's get you out of those wet clothes". She said.

Without a word, Letty followed. She wanted to get back by his side as quickly as possible.

----------------------------------

Letty had been by Dom's side for a little while. She kept thinking. What if she couldn't have saved him? How would she explain to Brian? How could she live without him? What if something else came for them? Was this worth it?

They had dug this hole for themselves. They had chosen this path. Was the old life still the same fun it had once been? If it meant these thoughts swirling around her head, or the possibility of losing her husband or son, then the answer was clear. No. Nothing was worth the possibility of losing them.

Just then Dom shot up. I'm an instant she was by his legs. Checking him over. She looked into her eyes. Pure relief elated from her. "You came for me, Letty". He said. His voice raspy. She was on the verge of tears. "Of course I did. And I'll never stop". She said as she hugged. "this is who we are". He said.

Letty shook her head. "It's not worth it, Dom. I almost lost you. I can't keep feeling like this. Especially now we've got Brian. None of this is Worth a thing, If I lose you both. You hear me?".

Dom looked at her dead in the eyes. She was serious. He hated that he had put her through so much. "So this will be the last ride?" He asked her.

She nodded. "let's finish this and get home. We can figure out what to do with the rest of our lives together, after that".

Dom's face hardened. "Let's go get the team and find Jacob". He kissed her passionately. And she laid him back on the make shift bed. "wait...I need you. I want you" she said. "We got time". He said.

The end.
