You saved me.

Letty lay awake in bed. She couldn't sleep. She had long since forgiven Dom for the past few days, but she was still trying to wrap her head around her new title.

She was a mom now. She had only just spoken to Dom about the possibility of having kids together, but in true fashion, it didn't go their way.

Now here they are, the guardians of  a little two year old beautiful, young boy. Brian Marcos Toretto, dubbed Little B, was the sweetest thing Letty had ever seen. He looked like the photos that she used to remember seeing around 1327, of Dom when he was younger.

Deciding that laying, staring at the ceiling was doing her no good, she quietly got out of bed. She walked down the hall of their little apartment, towards their newly furnished nursery.

She opened the door slightly, fully expecting the little boy to be asleep.  However, when she peaked her head in, she found him facing away from her, sitting up. He was looking out the window, admiring the sky full of stars.

"B? Sweetie?" She whispered. She noticed the boy flinch hard. "Hey, it's ok" she walked over and sat on the small bed with him. "You having trouble sleeping too?" She asked him gently. Brian nodded. "why you no sleep?" He asked her. "sometimes, grown ups have things that keep them up at night, this feeling that keeps telling them things". She explained. "Maybe that feeling was telling me to check on you". She tried to joke.

Brian looked at her. "I keep you up?" He said. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to" he said looking down. Letty felt her heart break. This boy was too pure and kind for the world he was put in. "No, sweetie....I just couldn't sleep because of something that happened with your daddy. You didn't do anything wrong" she smiled warmly. "Oh...." Was all he said.

"So, why are you up?" She asked. She had no idea why she was humouring a two year old in conversation at two in the morning, but something about it felt right. "I hearwd a noise and got scawed. So I wook at the starws. Then I feel happy" once again Letty felt her heart crumble. "I'm sorry to hear that, Bubba. Are you feeling better now?" She asked the infant. Brian nodded. "You make me feel safe. Just like daddy".

Brian yawned. "Let's get you back into bed, honey" Letty tucked him in, and kissed his forehead. With every minute that passed she was feeling more and more like a mom and she loved it. "I love you, momma". Brian said innocently. Letty froze for a moment. In that moment, the past didn't matter, how Little B became to be, didn't matter. Letty felt the scars of her heart being healed, and cleaned away.

She felt some tears rise in her eyes. "I love you too, baby. Sleep tight ok?" With one final kiss, she slowly walked over to the door. With one last lingering glance towards the now sleeping boy, she quietly closed the door. "you saved me, little guy. In more ways than you could possibly imagine" she whispered to the door.

With a wave crashing over her, she headed back for her own bed to let sleep overcome her and bring her to the next day.

The end.
