Mother's Day (again)

(using the 'Brian came into Dom and Letty's life when he was two years old' canon)

Nothing immediately came to Letty's mind on the morning of May 12th so she was a little confused to see her husband's side of the bed empty on a Sunday. Normally they'd wake up late, or as late as their new house guest would allow, and remain in bed enjoying each other. But here was her husband's side of their spacious bed, empty and seemingly had been for a significant amount of time.

Before she could question it any further, a seemingly excited little voice came through the other side of their closed bedroom door. "Can we come in?" The voice spoke. "Of course, sweetie". Letty called back.

When the door opened it revealed a little curly haired boy still in his racing car pyjamas from the previous night. He sprinted towards the bed and leapt into Letty's arms. Letty graciously accepted the hug he gave her and smiled into it. "What's got you so excited this morning, Little guy?". Little Brian smiled widely. "I have this for you" he said handing her a card. "for me?" Letty asked. Brian nodded eagerly.

Letty opened the card. It seemed home made. On the front was a giant heart with words written around it. "happy mother's day". Letty didn't even know it was mother's day. "Read the inside. Daddy helped me with it!" Little Brian said excitedly.

Letty read the card. "To my mother figure, you took me in, taught me so many things, played with me and loved me even though you didn't have me. I love you. Will you be my full time, mommy?"

Letty didn't realise she was crying until a tear fell on the paper. "Of course I'll be your mo..." She chocked on the word finally being able to say the title "your mommy". "Really?" Brian said as his eyes lit up. "Absolutely. Forever and always, Bubba". "Yaaaay!" Little Brian called as he hugged Letty hard. "I love you mommy". Brian said feeling happy. Letty loved hearing his sweet voice say thet word. She probably would until the end of time itself.
