Letty had been in the newly reopened Toretto garage, hard at work as ever. She and Dom had been putting a lot of their time into it. Whilst also juggling their new responsibility of being a parent.
Said infant was off doing his own little thing. Exploring all he could of the large open floor. Of course, Dom and Letty always kept watch over him, making sure he couldn't touch anything dangerous or harm himself.
Little Brian was having a wonderful time. He had found his dad's charger. The black machine looked so big to him. He was mesmerised by it. He adjusted himself so he could remain seated and just stare at the machine....very quietly.
Letty had come back from getting Brian's bottle from his diaper bag, when she noticed that he was no where to be seen. The kid might have only been a couple months old, but he could crawl at a high speed.
"Little B" she called, praying for some echo of babble to answer her fears....but there was nothing. "Oh shit" she said as she checked his play pen, thinking maybe Dom had put him back in there. But nothing.
"Shit, shit, shit" she cursed under her breath Incase he was near by. "Sweetie, come on out.... mommy's got your bottle" she tried. "He's not a dog, Letty" she scolded aloud to herself.
Little B, in aware of his mother's concern for his safety, just looked at the big machine with wide eyes.
Letty began looking behind items, she checked every corner of the garage, behind every trash can, every large toolbox. Each second she felt the fear within her rise. "Brian, this isn't funny anymore" she said as she panicked. In a last ditch effort, she checked around the cars.
When she rounded the final corner, she found Brian sitting there. Saying nothing, doing nothing. "There you are" she said as she went to pick him up.
But Little B was not happy to be leaving the charger. He let out a displeased whimper. "It's alright, I've got your yummy bottle right here" she spoke to the infant thinking he was just hungry. But Brian got more desperate. He started reaching out for the car.
Letty struggled to keep a hold of the infant. "What's up, little guy?" She looked to see what he could want. Then she eyed the charger. "You wanna stay by daddy's car?" She asked as she neared the car, noticing Brian became more calm
Letty wanted to laugh. This boy was his father through and through. She loved him more than words could ever describe. She tried opening the door of the car, but it was locked and Dom wasn't anywhere to be found.
Knowing that if she left the car, Brian would get sad again. So she carefully placed him on the roof of it. Brian clapped his hands with glee. "You are just like daddy aren't you?" She said as she tickled his little arm.
Letty gave Brian his bottle and began feeding him. It wasn't long before Dom came back to see his wife feeding their boy on the roof of his car.
He was about to ask why, but Letty beat him to it. "How would you feel about getting a baby seat for this thing?" She asked pointing to the charger. "Kid just doesn't want to leave it".
Dom smiled. "that so?" He said as he moved closer to where Brian was sitting. "You like grandpa Jack's car, huh?" He asked the infant. Brian clapped his hands again.
"I think that's a yes, papa" Letty said smugly from over his shoulder. "Well alright then. We'll see what we can get for a charger. Might even have to make one" he said as he thought aloud.
"Well....we mightn't have to think for too long, because I've actually been working on some designs". Letty said as she produced some drawings from her pocket. "I've been working on these since he entered our lives....I didn't want to immediately switch to a minivan, so I tried my hand at making something secure for our boy". She said going into a deep explanation.
Dom had to just stop listening at one point and admire her. Not only was she the love of his life and step mother of his child, but she was also a genius.
He cut her off with a passion filled kiss. "You know you're incredible" he told her, not that he ever had to. "I love this idea". He said as he studied the drawings some more.
Brian, noticing the paper, stamped his little hand on it. Dom chuckled. "Even little man agrees. We can get started as soon as we finish up here" he said as he lifted little Brian back to his play pen.
Brian was disappointed to be leaving the charger, but as it turned out, Dom had a trick up his sleeve too. He produced a toy version of the charger. "Now, little guy, you can have all the fun you want, with that".
Little Brian's face lit up in amazement. Dom had to laugh. He then went back over to Letty, who was wearing a big grin. "What?" He asked. "Nothing, I just love seeing our boy so happy". She said gazing over at the infant who was having the time of his life playing with his new toy. "He's his happiest when he's with you" Dom observed. "I have that effect on Torettos". She joked as she embraced Dom.
"We're not going to get anymore work done here today, are we?" Dom asked already knowing the answer. "Nope....let's get these started, I want to see the finished product as soon as possible.". Letty said almost eagerly. Dom hadn't seen this side of her before, but he had to admit that it looked good on her. After all the years of fighting together, it was nice to work on something without world ending stakes.
The end.
