Little Brian was the definition of a good kid. He was polite, always smiling and always wanting to see people happy.

This was seen by all who knew him. From his parents to his teachers, to his class mates, Even though he kept to himself most recesses.

Little B was on his way to his favorite tree. On a sunny and warm day, it was the perfect place to watch everyone play while he could enjoy the sun.

When he got there, he did his usual 'routine' of getting his lunch from his bag that his parents had prepared for him (more his father then his mother, but she always left the note).

This was where the norm, became different. He was eating his lunch when he heard "hello" from someone, but he couldn't see anyone when he looked around. "Up here".  He looked up to find a girl above him.

"Hello". He replied. "How did you get up there?" He asked. "I climbed"
She said. "Wow, you must be brave". He stated.

The girl climbed down. "Thanks, my name is Abby". She announced. "I'm Brian". He said shyly. "Nice to meet you". He held out his hand to dhake hers, he was a little gentleman.

"Can you teach me to climb like that? You looked really cool". Brian asked, hopeful. "Sure" Abby replied as she took his hand and walked him to the starting point.

Letty picked up her son from his school as she usually did on Wednesdays. "Did you have a good day, baby?" She asked as they drove home. "Uh huh" Brian nodded eagerly. "I made a new friend today". He said excitedly. "Her name is Abby".

Letty was feeling a mix of motherly emotions. Her son had made a friend and was enjoying his school days. She proud of him for it.

"That's great baby". She replied. "What's she like?". She furthered. Little B went on about what she was like, and how she and him had things in common. From his description alone, Letty liked the sound of this girl and was glad Brian had someone to talk to now at recess.

-----------------
(10 years later. Brian is 16 and Abby is 15 3/4)

Brian was frustrated. He was confused. He was curious. He didn't exactly know when it happened, but all of a sudden, he had feelings for his best friend.

The two had been inseparable since they met under that tree, so if anything he thought he'd be  feeling normal around her.

But whenever she was around, his hands sweat, he developed a stutter and he always felt hot. He didn't know what to do. These feelings were new to him. He needed to talk.

Normally he'd ask his dad for assistance when he needed it. But for some reason, he felt thst his mother would have what he needed to hear.

He knew she'd be here. It was her second home. The garage. She was working on the suspension of her cuda.

"Hey mom, can I talk to you?" He asked, rather nervous. "Sure, honey. Just give me a sec". She rolled herself from under the car and sat up. He pulled two stools over for them to sit on.

"So what's up?" She asked. "Ummn....well it's about Abby". He began, nervs showing. Letty had a way with Torretto men where she could read them like books. "Really? What about her?" She asked trying to keep the grin off her face.

"Well, lately, she's been on my mind a lot.....and I....I feel this way around her". Letty broke and her grin was wide. "Is my little boy, in love?" She mused. "Mom!....don't say it like that". Brian freaked. Letty laughed. "Sorry baby. Its just funny to see you Torretto men out of your comfort zone".

"Well, are you?" She asked again. Brian could feel the blush creep onto his face. "I don't know. I've never felt like this before".

"I think you are". She teased again. "So what are you going to do about it, Bri?" She asked. "I don't know. I don't want to lose her, but I'm scared she'll reject me". He looked defeated and Letty knew he needed full support. "Well, from what I've seen of her since you two first started your friendship....she definitely likes you".

"How would you know, Mom?" He asked, genuinely wondering how his mother could be so certain. "Because, my little love bird" she said getting one final jab in. "As cruel or as comforting as this sounds, I see the exact way that that your dad and I looked at each other before we began our life together".

Brian was somewhat relieved but also not surprised, he was his father through and through. "So what do I do?" Brian asked hopeful that Letty would have an answer for this too. "Well, what DO you want to do?" Letty asked.

"I want her". Brisn said, surprising himself with his certainty. "I want to be more then her friend. All I can do is pray that you're right about seeing yourself in her". It was Letty's turn to be curious. "Why's that?" She asked. Brian smiled slightly "Because dad always said women like you were rare in the best way, that women like you were the only ones for Torretto men". Letty made note to treat Dom tonight while Brian was out.

Letty felt that swell of motherly love. "That's my boy". She said as she hugged him. "I'll tell, your dad, you'll be home later". She hugged him tight. "Go bring her home". She said as she let him go....in multiple ways.

"Thanks Mom. I'll see you later". He gave her a kiss on her cheek and ran off. Letty let a few tears run down her face when he had left.

She didn't feel like working on her car anymore. Her little boy was on his way to becoming a man, she wanted to be with her man right now. She also prayed that it would go well for her boy.
-------------------------------
(Another 10 year later, because I'm too lazy to make this reach 3000 words  with all that could be written)

Letty never expected this day. Hell, she doubted any parent did. But here she was, being held by her tall, handsome not so little anymore, boy as the room disappeared and it was just them two, dancing.

Brian and Abby's wedding. Letty was so proud of her boy. He did well in school and college, and his relationship with Abby was going Strong.

She really liked the girl. She was sweet, but had an edge to her, that was evident with her activities she did in her pastime. Hell, Letty damn near loved the girl and was delighted to welcome her into the family.

"I'm so proud of you, sweetie, And I'm so happy of the man you've become". She said to Brian as they continued twirling and moving to the music. "Thanks, mom. For everything....you and Dad. You showed me the kind of life I wanted, and helped me get it any way you could. I love you". "I love you too, honey....I always will". She repeated her promise from when he first entered her life.

With that, she put her head on his heart as he continued to lead their little mother/son dance.

The end.🫠
(Wow that took a long time. This one shot is dedicated to loomriah as they accidentally inspired me with a conversation we had, little B has met his soulmate. So now I'm going to cry because I've let him grow up.🥹 With all that said, thanks for reading and I'll catch you lads and ladies in the next one.)
