Meet The Parent.....again?

(10 years ago. Brian is 5 and Abby is 4 3/4)

Little Brian took Abby by the hand as he showed her the way over to his Mom who was waiting for him.
He was going to introduce Abby to her.

"Hi mommy. This is Abby. She's my Best friend". He said with a smile. "Abby, this is my mommy. She works on cars with my daddy. She's so cool". He said holding out a presenting hand towards Letty.

"Hi there, Abby". Letty said as she bent down to their level. "Brian has told me so much about you, it's so nice to finally meet you".

Abby shook her hand. Letty was slightly taken aback by the gesture since it was a child she was dealing with. "Hello, Mrs Torretto. It's nice to meet you too. Brian always talks about how nice you are. He's right. You are very nice. I like your hair". Abby said sweetly.

"Aww...thanks sweetie. That's so nice of you to say so".  Letty couldn't understand how polite this girl was.

"Come on, Abby. I'll take you back to your Mommy. I'll be back in a minute, mommy". Brian said as he left with Abby. "I'll be here when you get back, baby". She said as he walked away. "I'll always be here" she said as she watched the two walk over to who she assumed was Abby's mother. Letty would have gone over, but she knew this would not be the last time she'd get the opportunity to meet her parents.

(Present day)

Letty remembered that day so clearly. Her opinions on the girl had only improved since that day as she watched the two get closer. Letty couldn't have chosen a better person for her boy to love, herself.

Dom watched his wife. "I know". He said. "Know what?" Letty asked as she looked at him. "He's growing up quickly". Dom said. "But he'll always be here, just like we will be for him".

"It feels like only yesterday, shaw brought him to that barbecue and home to us". She said "you getting soft on me, Torretto?" He asked. Letty sniffed a small bit. "No.... maybe?...I don't know, it just feels like something is over and I don't want it to be". She said.

Dom hugged her. "Me neither. But let's try and look at it as the beginning of something new instead". Letty kissed him. "you're right papi".

A few minutes later the door opened and in walked Brian and Abby, holding hands. "Hi mom and dad". He said as he repositioned his fingers around Abby's hand. "This is Abby, my girlfriend". He looked at her in her eyes and smiled.

A look that Dom knew he had definitely given to Letty. That was him satisfied these two were good. Letty smiled too recognizing the same look. "Hi, Mr and Mrs Torretto. Nice to meet you properly".

Letty stood up and hugged the girl "welcome to the family, properly, Abby". Abby hugged back. "Thanks, Mrs Torretto. I love your perfume. It's so fresh".

Dom also gave Abby a hug with a similar confirmation to the family. After a while of chatting Abby asked if she could have a moment with Letty, alone.

"I just wanted to say Mrs Torretto.... that I really do love your son. I promise that I'll look out for him as he will for me. And I promise that I am not trying to become the only woman in his life. Since we were young he's always talked about how much you mean to him. I couldn't change him if I tried". She said. "I just wanted to try and put any nerves you may have had about me, at ease".

Letty smiled and grabbed the girl's hand "thanks, Honey. I know that you're a good kid and he's in the safest hands possible".

Letty smirked slightly. "Plus if he ever gets out of line. Just ask me for some advice, momma still knows a few tricks that work on Torretto men". Abby giggled. "You got it, Mrs Torretto". She said.

"Oh please, you can call me Letty, now, sweetie". She said giving her another hug.

Later Brian and Abby were just about to leave to drop her home. "Lovely to see you again, Letty. Bye Dom" Abby said as they were going to leave. "You too Abby. Well see you sometime soon".

"See you in a few, Mom and Dad". Brian said as he walked out with Abby on his arm. "We'll be here, baby". She said ".....I'll always be here".
