Letty had definitely become mostly accustomed to this whole motherhood thing. How could she not? Little Brian was his father through and through. Even in the way he looked at her with those big brown eyes.

Letty had been left on her own, Dom was out doing something she plainly refused to do....going to the bank to lodge cheques for banking payments. She shuddered at the thought.

Not that she'd ever take advantage of Dom or his money, she just didn't have the patience to deal with working out any of that stuff. So she'd just give him the cash she had and let him do it. and Dom was perfectly ok with that.

It meant that she was alone with little Brian for the day, but that would be no issue. The pair's relationship was now fully that of a biological mother and son. They played together, Letty used her almighty knowledge of Hispanic foods to make them a lovely lunch of a small baguette with a sauce recipe passed down from her father years ago. And then she put him down for his nap.

She had to admit that it was quiet without him around. She often wondered how they were ever without him just 3 short years ago.

After about 20 minutes she heard his cry through the monitor. He sounded in distress. She ran up the stairs faster than she had ever ran them before and sttaight into his room. She found Little B curled up in a little ball.

"B, you ok?" She panted as she checked the boy over. without saying anything, Little B clung to her. He was shaking. "I..I..I had a bad dream.. you and daddy were gone and...I was all alone with these big scary people". He cried hard. "Oh Baby, you know that me and daddy will never leave you. We will always come back. That's a promise, and you know that we always keep our promises. you're safe, Bubba". She said as she soothed the back of the little boy's head.

"Come on, we'll nap downstairs together. I won't leave you". She said as she picked him and his favourite bear up and brought them downstairs.

Dom was admittedly confused when he saw the curtains closed at  three in the afternoon around the house, but that drifted away as soon as he saw his wife and son asleep on the couch together. Letty's arms wrapped firmly, but gently around the three year old. They looked peaceful. Dom quietly left them to get a start on some mundane tasks around the house.

They woke up half an hour later and Little B had seemingly forgotten all about his nightmare. But Letty wouldn't. She couldn't. She hadn't seen fear on that boy's face since he arrived, and he hoped that she never would have to again.

Later that night as she and Dom laid together in bed. He noticed that she was a little off. "What's going on in that beautiful head of yours?" He asked as he shifted to face her better. "Earlier today, Little man had a nightmare. He saw himself being with 'big scary men' and we weren't there to save him". She said with a sigh. "I told him they will never be able to stop us from getting back to him".

"You're an amazing mother, Let. Always knowing what to say in the right moments" Dom said as they moved closer together. "Hopefully he won't develop a habit of having them. He doesn't deserve that after all he has already been through". She said feeling her heart clench with sadness for the little boy.

"Whatever happens, we'll be there for him. Always". Dom finished as the two shared an embrace together. With that the two awaited for sleep to take over them as they hoped that their boy would have a peaceful night once again.

The end.

(This one ran out of steam towards the end as a lot of these ones seem to do. Anyway, this one shot is dedicated to Upstead-Chenford, whom have the request. Hopefully I managed to get just enough out of it for you. With all that said, I'd like to thank you for reading and I'll catch you lads and ladies in the next one.)
