Little Brian was happily colouring on the coffee table, it was just the right height for his small body to be comfortable while spending time doing his little hobby.

Letty was in the other room attending to the stove making her final preparations for the barbecue, while Dom was out back setting up the grill.

Once he was satisfied with his work, he decided to show off his work. He went into the kitchen to show his mother.

"Mommy, mommy, look what I made". He said proudly. Letty couldn't help but smile. When she was younger, she always thought that hearing Dom refer to her as his wife would be her favourite title, but since the boy had uttered "mama" to her, those three years ago, it was all she ever wanted to hear him say.

"Whatcha make, baby?" She asked as she bent down to his level. Brian handed her his drawing. On it, was a picture of a figure wearing blue overalls, similar to the ones being worn by the boy in front of her looking at her with big wide eyes, holding the hand of a taller figure with short hair, which she had recently cut. The two figures were standing with the sun shining down on them and in what looked to be the sky, were words. It read 'I love my mommy'.

Letty felt her heart melt, knowing that she could mean this much to someone so new in her life was healing some old wounds she hadn't thought about in a long time.

(Flashback)

'Thwak' the hand came quick and hard across her face. Letty almost couldn't believe it. "Don't you dare talk to me in that tone, Leticia" the older Ortiz woman spoke as she folded her arms.

Letty put a hand to her cheek. "you seriously resorted to that?" She asked. "I have never been so offended in all my life" her mother said. "over what?!" Letty yelled losing her composure briefly. "you tell me that after all I have done for you, you just want to up and leave the life you could have for some common mechanic job, and you act as if it's fine?" She scoffed. "If your father could see you now, he'd be very disappointed in you".

"Be as disappointed in me as you want, but hitting your child? Thats uncalled for. All I said was that it wasn't your decision to make" her hand came at her face again, but Letty grabbed it. "How damaged you must be to hit your own child". Letty said with venom.

"I don't care what my child could ever do to me..." Letty's mother scoffed and cut her off. "you are delusional if you think you'd be able to have a child with that thug. You don't even know what is good for you. You would be a pathetic mother. If you go with him, you give up on everything you have here. You become less than the pathetic nothing you are now".

Letty went up to her room and packed a bag. Her mother's words cut her deep. Too deep. She had had enough of this life. She needed one where she could be herself.

(Present day)

"What do you think, mommy?" Little Brian asked innocently. Letty blinked her eyes a few times as she came back to the present. "I love it, baby". She said as he bent down to his level to give him a hug. "But I love you more". She said into the hug. "I think we should put it right here" Letty said as she put on the fridge with a magnet.

Little Brian smiled. Then he saw Letty wipe a tear from her eye. "Mommy, why are you crying?" He asked. Letty sniffed slightly. "Oh, it's nothing, honey. You just made me very happy, you reminded me why I keep going". She said. "why, mommy?" Letty smiled as she rubbed his cheek. "for you, your daddy and this life we made together". She said as she took him Into another hug. "I love you more than you will ever know, little man. And I'll always be here for you".

Little Brian hugged her harder. "I will always be here for you too mommy". Brian said sincerely. "Now let's get these out to your dad. He's probably waiting so we can start the barbecue".  "Ok mommy. Let's go!" He said as he walked out Infront of his mom, holding the door for her. "Thank you, little man". She said as he watched little Brian walk to his dad. "Daddy, mommy's got the rest of the stuff" he called over to Dom.

Dom turned with a smile of his own that only grew as he saw both his wife, his everything, and their boy walking towards him. He hoisted Brian up into his arms and walked over to take the stuff off Letty as he gave her a kiss.

Letty watched her two boys walk away from her. Her entire reason for continuing and making herself better then she thought possible. Day by day, Letty's scars on her heart healed because of the boy that entered her life so unexpectedly. She wouldn't change a thing if it meant that this moment didn't exist.

(The end)

(Yes it's me, back from another lazy hiatus. This one was special to make for me as we know how Dom views parenthood, so I wanted to show Letty viewing it as well. I Thank you all for reading and I'll catch you lads and ladies in the next one.)
