Most first time parents will agree. The first days are always the most exciting, wonderful and hard days of being a parent. Especially when the kid is almost a year old and you are only meeting them for the first time.

Brian Torreto came into his parents life in an unusual way. He was saved by his father while his mother was tragically shot. Leaving him with his father and step mother. The boy was only 9 months old but he was instantly accepted by his family and was somewhat of a royal figure in it. He had everyone's attention.

While during the day he was the most amazing, calm and well behaved kid. At night he was not. At night he would be heard screaming only minutes after being put to bed, Dom and Letty theorised that it was something to do with how he was usually put to bed back when he and Elena were kidnapped. They couldn't imagine what the poor boy must have been through and it broke their hearts.

As per usual, Brian was heard crying at 11 pm. Letty was still downstairs locking up the house for the night. "Dom, honey, finish up locking the doors, I am going to go and calm little man down. I want to try something new with him." she called to her loving husband of 10 years, Dominic Torreto. "OK, baby you got it." he replied to his wife.

Letty got to the boys room where she had found the familiar site of the boy laying in his crib with a wet face and frown. It was a sight that always broke her heart. "shhsh, baby, its OK, mamas here. Your safe." she said while swaying with the boy softly. this method was the usual method of calming Brian down.

When she had somewhat quietened the boy she asked "so little man, shall we try something new tonight?" she asked the sniffling boy. "so mama is going to stay with you until you go to sleep, then she is gonna come and sit by your crib all night so you feel safe." she explained to the infant, fully aware that he had no idea what she was saying. She brought him down to get him some milk in a bottle and to say goodnight to Dom. She put a sleeping Brian back into his crib and prepared her makeshift couch to sleep on.

True to her word, Letty actually stayed the whole night with Brian, one of her hands protectively on his little arm for comfort. He slept the whole night knowing his mama was beside him, and although he did wake up sometimes in the middle of the night still it was significantly less than had they not tied this method.

After two weeks he was able to sleep all on his own through the whole night. "the first of many milestones" Dom said to Letty as they looked at their sleeping boy from the door way. "all thanks to my amazing wife". Letty smiled. "I aim to please" she said she snuggled closer to her husband. Then snoring was heard and Dom looked down to see Letty had fallen asleep on him. He picked her up bridal style and layed her on the bed. Although Brian had been sleeping well, that couch was not comfortable and Letty hadn't gotten any sleep in two weeks. Dom admired how much she loved Brian despite not being related by blood and just accepted him as her own and moved on, for that and more reasons than could be put to words, he loved her. She stayed up for two whole weeks for him. He thought to himself that he was the luckiest man in the world. He kissed her on her forehead and pulled the covers over her. Then he left for his side of the bed and turned off the light for a long, peaceful sleep.

The End.
