The Moment She Knew.

Letty was never sure when things changed. It might have been on their first night in the house. It hadn't seemed familiar. But she was told that she had lived there  for practically her whole life.

They had been inside having a quiet evening. Mia and Letty were on the couch as Dom and Brian were getting food for their movie night, something they had done for years by that point, but she couldn't remember at the time.

Mia had little Jack in her arms. He was the image of his dad. Jack looked at his mother who gave him a smile. He then turned his head to Letty. Jack gave his brightest smile to Letty. She tried to look away from the infant but she was mesmerized by him. His big eyes and little grin. He was adorable.

"Say hi to auntie Letty, Jack". Mia
Said making jack give a little wave. Letty gave a small wave back. Jack wriggled his arms and reached out for Letty.

She often thinks this is the exact moment she had ever been caught off guard. She reached out to him and picked him up. "Hey there, little guy". She said.

Dom and Brian came back in. And Jack looked over to his uncle and tried reaching for him. Letty handed him over to Dom.

This was the first moment where she knew that she wanted to see Dom with their own kids, even if she still had yet to figure out that in her mind.

The next moment she felt that desire was after the battle of Los Angeles. Jack and Mia were playing on the beach, jack came running up to get Brian. The team laughed at the cute sight as Dom called out "duty calls". Letty couldn't help but imagine herself and Dom in the same situation. Now that she had her memories back, maybe it was time for the two of them to have that talk, maybe on their long overdue honeymoon.

The final nail on the coffin was when they were in Cuba. After a street race for his cousin's car, which ended in said car getting thrown into the ocean, he immerged victorious, people crowded around him, including a number of kids. They were all cheering for him. He picked one up and looked Letty dead in the eye. The remaining fear had left her as she looked at him with a sheepish smirk as he shrugged.

They had talked about it later that afternoon after a.....heated session. He had seemed keen on trying after their food. But plans seemed to get put off....

It had been three days since then and here they were talking about what had happened. What cipher had that made him turn in the thing that meant most in this world to him....or rather who.

Letty felt empty in this moment. Her newly found dreams of having kids with Dom seemed to crash all around her. That was until she thought about it. Dom didn't know he existed, Elena never told him. She also knew that this kid was left without a mother. Maybe her dreams could still become reality.

Nothing ever worked out 'normally' for them, and she was ok with it. She knew that no matter what happened, she'd have her husband, and now she'd also have her new son by her side.

When she had met the little guy for the first time, it felt better than she could have imagined it. Seeing Dom hold him was everything. Hearing him giggle at random acts of affection quickly became one of her new favorite things. It had only been an hour but Letty had already been caught under this little boy's spell.

She was determined to keep him safe too. No matter what. Later, something Dom had said also caused her to think back to her dream. The two were looking at their now sleeping son with two grins on their faces.

"Wonder how he'd feel about a sibling or two...in the future, when you'd be ready". Dom said. Letty's eyes widened. "You'd still want more?" She asked. "I always wanted our family, Letty. No matter what shape it took". He replied as he grabbed her waist.

"You sure you could handle a mini Ortiz?" She smirked. "Not a chance, but we could always pretend to ourselves like we were better when we were younger". Dom conceded.

"Well, if you keep that hand where it is, then Little man mightn't be waiting so long for one". She said as she wrapped herself around Dom's chest.

After ensuring that the new baby monitors were working, the two went off to their own room for some....play time. They may have had to be quieter due to the new resident, but it was as glorious as it had ever been.

Who knows? Maybe this was the start of a brand new dream and a brand new life. One thing was certain, they'd take it a quarter mile at a time.

The end
