The Toretto family loved three things in life, family, fast cars and barbecues. The entire family had met up once more as they always did on Sundays. Little did they know this barbecue was going to be different.

They were already well into their food when the gate opened with a bang. "Hola familia". The voice of an older woman sounded out. Dom, Letty and Mia all turned their heads in shock as they turned to see if their ears were correct.

"I hope you saved some for me, I'm starving after my long flight". She said as she made her way over to the table. Abuela Toretto. Entering with a suitcase, open arms and many many points of conversation. Dom and Mia both stood first to give their grandma a hug.

Letty stood after. Soon they introduced the rest of the team. Brian got up and hugged her as did the two present kids, Jack and Daisy. She met Ramsey, Tej and Roman for the first time too. They all got along together just fine.

Just as she thought she had greeted everyone, there was a crackling sound. It was coming from the previously unseen baby monitor. Letty stood up quickly and jogged away saying "I've got him".

"Another one? My Mia you were busy". She said proudly that she had more great grandchildren to meet. Mia nearly choked on her water. "Ummm...no, Abuela, that's Dom's son".

Abuela looked at Dom. "Dios mio, Dominic! Why do I always have to hear about you from other people" she playfully scolded as the table laughed.

(With Letty)

"Hey baby, you must've smelt the barbecue, huh?" Letty eased as she picked the sniffling infant out of his crib. "You're ok, Bubba. I've got you".

(Back at the table)

Everyone was listening to the monitor. They all smiled as they heard Letty comfort the baby. None more than Dom. He was so proud of his wife. She was an excellent mother, she took to the role very quickly and naturally.

She walked back out with baby in hand and took him over to see Abuela. "Abuela, this is little Brian" she angled him down so she could see the infant. "Little B, this is your Abuela Toretto".

Brian stared at the older woman before flashing her a big smile showing off his few little teeth. It melted the whole tables hearts. "Oh, Letty...he's adorable. Can I?" She asked out stretching her arms to take the infant.

Letty handed little B to her. He stared into her eyes before she tickled his little arm making him squeal with laughter.

However, a baby can only enjoy someone else for so long, and before Letty had even sat down. The table heard "m...mm...mama!" Letty turned on her heel. And the chatter stopped, apart from Little B trying to reach his mother.

No one knew how they were expected to react to this. They all knew that Letty wasn't Brian's birth mother, but they knew she was the best that he'd get. They waited for her to react. "You guys all heard that too, right?" The table agreed. Letty felt this indescribable feeling. "Come here Bubba, Mama's here" she said as she lifted him high into the air as he kicked his little legs about and squealed with laughter. She peppered his little face with kisses.

No one had ever seen this side of her before, only Dom had seen glimpses of it. But Letty didn't care. She was overjoyed. Abuela had tears in her eyes, she had picked a good day to show up out of the blue, as she was witnessing what seemed to be another wonderful milestone.

---------------------------

Later that Day, Dom seperated off from the family, he was in the garage, he didn't have any real reason to be there, he just wanted to keep his mind busy. "You've hardly said a word, since I arrived". He turned to see Abuela standing behind. "Am I not wanted?" She teased playfully. "Talk to me, my boy. What is troubling you?"

Since the death of his mother, a year after Mia was born, Abuela was the closest thing that Dom had to a mother figure. Dom closed the hood of the car he was working on. "I've failed" was all he said. "Failed with what?" She asked.

"All my life, I've made stupid impulsive decisions. Now they've effected the family". He said. "Whatever you've done, it cannot be as bad as you think" she said with kindness in her voice. "Look at today. You have wonderful friends, a loving wife and an adorable son. The joy on Letty's face earlier, that didn't look like a mistake to me".

She brought a hand to her grandson's face. "I heard about the trouble you caused in New York. I assume it was for family?" Dom nodded. "then you succeeded. I know you've lost some along the way, but unfortunately, that is life Dom. We lose people, but the important thing is that we do not spend that time worrying about the who we could lose and instead enjoy every second of what we have with them".

"As helpful as ever, Abuela" he wrapped her in a hug. "thank you". He breathed out. "It's what familia is for". She responded.

Over the way, he could see Letty playing with little Brian. Abuela looked over at them too. "He's not hers, is he?" She stated more than asked. Dom looked down at her. "it doesn't matter, look at them. She loves him so deeply. The way only a mother could love a child, the way I loved your father, and how your mother loved you. It doesn't matter their origin, what matters is that they are shown love of the highest quality. And she does show him that, you both do".

Little Brian looked away over towards his dad. "You wanna see dada, sweetie?" Letty asked the excited boy on her lap. "Dada Dada" Brian babbled excitedly. Letty walked over with the infant and handed him off to Dom. "So long as you have this, you have always done well, my boy. Keep safe". She said as she kissed his cheek. She looked at little Brian. "I will see you very soon, mi bambino" she tickled his little arm again and waved at him. Brian copied the motion.

She looked to Letty. "Adios Letty. Welcome to the motherhood club. I want constant photos of him, as I've already instructed Mia. Keep safe". She hugged Letty.

Letty moved over to her husband as they watched the older Toretto leave. Dom wrapped his arm around her. "I missed her" Letty said. "So did I". Dom replied.

Dom looked at little Brian, who had his head turned around looking at the busted up car behind him. "One day, you and I are going to make that as good as new". He said to the Baby as he pointed to the car. "Just like me and your grandpa Jack did". "You're an amazing father" Letty said as she kissed her husband's shoulder. "And you are the best mother" he kissed her forehead.

The past was messy, but it was all worth it for the times like these.

The end.

(I have quite literally nothing to say other than, this was suggested by loomriah, as almost everything that has some form of quality, had been. I hope you enjoyed and I'll catch you lads and ladies in the next one.)
