Valentine's day. Either you love, don't give a shit, or hate it. Dom and Letty always celebrated it in their own unique way as they were a unique match.
When little Brian arrived they incorporated him into their plans. Those plans were pretty much how they celebrated ALL their 'special' nights. Dom served Letty her breakfast in bed (one of the few normal couple things they did) then they would head out to the garage to meet up with Hector.
Hector would gather the best the streets had to offer of that particular month they'd head out to their site in the desert and race for hours a time.
Now, after all those years, another change was set to take place. Brian had a girlfriend now. Abby. She was amazing for him. Dom and Letty were very supportive of them. They saw themselves in the young couple. Especially when they found out that Abby had a hell of a heavy left foot.
So Abby had been offered this experience by her boyfriend. Her friends thought he was a menace for suggesting such an idea for their first valentine's day together. But Abby responded with "I was worried you were going to suggest some form of fancy restaurant bs, you really do know me, babe". Before she kissed his cheek.
Being the parents of the greatest street racers of all time, Brian had already easily gotten his license. So on the morning of valentine's day, he drove up to her House and waited for her to come out.
He had opted for a classic charger. Similar to his dad's. He and his Mom had spent weekends making it his own. His dad took care of his own one.
Abby hopped in and kissed Brian passionately. "So babe, you ready to celebrate valentine's the Torretto way?" He asked once they were finished. "Hell yeah, I can't wait to see this. I wanna see your parents in action. Even when we were young I remember you telling me all about these events".
They drove for about three hours. Brian really letting his genes showing through as he opened up the charger on the highway. In this moment his life seemed perfect. Beautiful car, out of this world girlfriend who was laughing like a little kid. He failed to see how it could get better.
He arrived at the place. Brian didn't intend on racing until the very end of the day a one on one with his dad. Something he hoped would be a long standing tradition, so he parked near the on-site garage.
They arrived just in time to see Dom's charger leave it's American cousin behind by over a hundred meters.
"Hey, Honey". Letty said as she gave Abby a hug as she saw the two. "Hey Mrs Torretto. Thanks again for letting me in on watching. This is incredible". Abby replied.
"Maybe you'll get a spin, later. We saw what you can do behind a wheel". Letty said "and I told you, Honey. Call me Letty". She scolded fondly. "I gotta go. It's my turn to kick some modern ass. Enjoy the day kids".
"Good luck Mami". Dom said as he passed his wife. "You know I don't need it, papi. But I appreciate it anyway. I Love you". She kissed him quickly before she got behind the wheel of her Cuda.
"Hey Mr T" Abby said as she went to give him a hug. "You killed it out there". "Thanks, kid. That old beast still knows how to handle the drag strip". He pointed behind to his charger. "She hasn't lost a race in 40 years".
"She's beautiful, Mr T". Abby looked at the car. Brian was glad she had a thing for American muscle too.
Brian and Abby spent the day going around to Brian's other Uncles of the street race community. They met Hector and Han showed up for a while.
Later that evening Brian lined up his charger alongside Dom's one. The two looked at each other. Though Dom had his usual stoic expression that he wore before a race, he was brimming with pride that he lived this long to race alongside his son.
The light turned green and they were off. Dom, as per usual, sending his charger off with a mighty wheelie. Both cars were neck and neck the entire race. Brian even timed his NOS with his father. The race ended a draw.
Abby ran to her boyfriend and jumped into his arms. "What do ya say dad? A draw?". Brian smiled.
"Sure, son. We'll eventually settle it one day". "You were amazing babe". Abby piped up. "That why I'm being awarded the greatest trophy ever?" Brian smirked.
"Abby, you wanna have one with me?". Abby shot from her boyfriend's arms. "Hell yeah, I do Letty". Brian handed the keys to his charger and kissed her good luck.
Letty and Abby's race was also quick and tight. Letty being the victor by a small margin. Abby had adrenaline coursing through her. "That was incredible". She beamed. Brian wrapped his arms around her and said in her ear. "I've one last thing to do tonight". He said sounding rather nervous.
Dom and Letty watched as their boy walked his girl to his car. "We done good, papa". She said to him. "that we did, mami". "I think it's about time you unwrapped your present". She whispered in his ear. "oh god. My favorite part of valentine's". He said as they made way for their caravan thst they still owned.
---------------------------------
Brian and Abby sat into his car. "So what's up Brian". Brian opened the glove box. "Well, Abby. I want to give you your present". He said. "Oh
...I left yours at home. Oh god I completely forget. I was just so excited to go to this amazing day and...I'm really sorry, Brian".Brian chuckled. "It's all good, babe". He handed her a little bag. Abby opened it and Brian began talking.
"I wanted to get you something with meaning. Something that we would always have to remember not just today, but US, long after we're gone". He began. "So after careful thinking I found it".
Abby pulled a silver chain cross for the bag. "This is a cross similar to mine. My dad had an original one as did my grandfather. They both have it to their significant other when they knew that they were the one, so that's what I'm doing now. I love you Abby, and I know you're the one for me".
Abby looked at Brian. She was stunned to silence. "Brian it's beautiful. I love you" she Said as she kissed him. "You really think we're going to make it?" She asked, hopeful. "I'll be damned if I let the most amazing, gorgeous woman leave my life". He replied. "Good. So will I".
With that the two lovebirds drove home. Abby falling asleep on Brian's shoulder. A rather perfect valentine's day indeed.
The end.
(Happy Valentine's to all who are not avoiding it. I'll be going back to hiding in my den until more Fast 10 news comes out. Until then, thanks for reading and I'll catch you lads and ladies in the next one.)
