Dotty Family Moments.

unexpected. (part 1)

(This is basically my attempt at a "what if" style universe where things panned out a little different. If some characters seem out of character I do apologise, I'm working on getting back into these versions of the characters mindset again. The storyline in question is "what if Letty had been pregnant in F8". I hope you enjoy this one.)

Something was off with Letty. Normally after upturning her car she'd be able to shrug it off, was she finally catching her? She was nearing mid thirties after all. Perhaps she was too focused on getting Dom back to attempt ignore the pain.

No this felt different. There was internal pain. Was it her ribs? No, it was sharp, central. Appendix? No she had that removed years ago. "Hobbs, this joint got a medical place?" She called over. "upstairs, down the hall on the left....you good?" He replied.

"Yeah, just gotta headache is all, I'll be back soon". She lied as she went to go find the medical facility.

After a brief conversation with the middle-aged, on-site doctor. He performed an ultrasound to see if something was off.

"Well, Mrs Toretto, I think I found an answer to your problems". Letty braces herself for the worst. She'd worry about herself after she got Dom back. "Congratulations, Mrs Toretto, your baby seems to be thriving".

Letty had seen her fair share of shocking and surprising things, but she would probably wager that her face for any of them, was nothing like the shock she was currently wearing.

"Baby?...." Was all she managed out as the doctor turned the monitor to face her. "I take it this is not the news you were expecting" the doctor said as he finished his examination and noting that she was two months along. Letty almost smirked when she counted back the dates and found them to be the night of their second wedding.

"Would you like prints of the scan?" He asked her. Letty could only nod. Her throat had closed up and thousands of emotions rushed through her.

A Baby. The product of her and Dom's love for each other. A mini version of one of them. This was a lot to dump on her with everything that was going on with Dom. She thanked the doctor as he handed her some prints of the Baby and a prescription for prenatal vitamins, then she silently left. She needed to process this on her own.

As the rest of the team sat in silence, things began to get heated between Little nobody and Hobbs. Tensions were at an all time high. Letty had been gone for the better part of an hour. "Where's the Mrs alpha at?" Roman called out. Everyone looked around but noticed she wasn't there.

Ramsey said she would go and find her. She felt awful about what she said about Dom a few days prior. She wanted to apologise properly.

She walked upstairs and found Letty silently sitting on a single chair. Had her foot not been twitching, Ramsey would have assumed she was dead.

She walked along her and pulled up another chair. "Hey...." She said sitting down. Letty broke from her trance and regained her surroundings. "Hey" she responded. "are you alright, Letty?"

Letty thought about her answer. Was she alright? She had just found out she was two months pregnant, her husband was still working with the enemy, they were wanted criminals yet again.

"Yeah, it's just a lot right now" she breathed. "We're going to get Dom back. Actually, I'd like to apologise to you, Letty. What I said about Dom...it was wrong. I know that Dom would have to have a major reason for ever even thinking to betray us". Ramsey said.

Letty looked at her friend. "It's all good" Letty said as she gave her a hug. "Come on, let's go back to the team". Letty said. "I'd be careful, Hobbs is one more mishap from killing little nobody". Letty sighed. "it was only a matter of time".

The team, thanks to Letty's observant eye, got a hold of one of the guys working with cipher and knew where to track him to. They were off to Russia. Normally Letty would be ready to fight, but she had to think about the little one within her now as well. She pulled Hobbs aside. "Listen Letty, I don't like what I have to tell you..." He began. "Hobbs, I need to tell you something first....I hate to saying that I need 'protection', but I'm not thinking about myself anymore...I've just found out that I'm pregnant. I can still handle myself behind a wheel, but I need to be kept away from fist fights".

Hobbs was not often speechless but there's a first time for everything. "Ok...um....wow. congratulations. Does the team know?" Letty shook her head. " No one but you. I don't want to tell anyone else until it's over".

Hobbs, as a father himself, now couldn't tell her that he was willing to stop her husband by way of death if necessary, so he just nodded and told her he'd handle a plan to keep her involved but safer.

Letty thanked him and went to prepare her new car now that 'all bets were off' according to Little nobody. "Let's go bring Daddy home" she said as she caressed her still flat stomach lightly.

(Time skip because we all know how the finale goes in the movie and absolutely nothing is different)

There he stood. Her lover, her husband, her ride or die. The two walked towards each other. For a moment no one else was around. They clung to each other as if their lives depended on it. It was just them. "You know I never left you, Letty" he said almost desperate as if she wouldn't believe him. Letty smiled, relieved. She had her man in her arms once again. "I know". She sighed. "And you know I never will" he finished. "I know".

After a moment with the rest of the team, Dom turned his full attention back on his wife. "I have so much to tell you" he said as he looked her in her eyes. "Yeah you do, and I have something to tell you too". She kissed him for what seemed like hours.

Dom might have been back with the Family, but there was still two huge things that needed discussing...

(Huh..so that's what a Cliffhanger looks like... ANYWAY, this was suggested by loomriah as always. I hope you enjoyed this.... unconventional part one of my two parter.
